CALLED AND CHOSEN

Strong’s 2822 – kletos – from 2564.  To call.  Called, invited, welcomed, appointed.  To designate those invited to a banquet.

The word translated church in #1577 is never used in the original Greek.  The word Ecclesia means called out ones.  Those called out of the world to be an assembly or congregation of true believers.

As we read the definitions of “called” we need to make it very personal.  There are now about 7 billion people on the face of the earth.  The number of people really called and converted, i.e., actually having His Spirit, only number in the thousands – not millions or billions.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Elohim dwells in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Messiah, this one is not His.

It is Yah that searches and looks upon the heart.  As we will see, He does the calling.  It takes a miracle.  This is part of the specialness of our calling.  We will examine the criteria for His calling and realize we are a select few.  This is hard to believe, but the scriptures will again speak for themselves.

Jeremiah 17:10 I, Elohim, search the heart, I try the kidneys, and give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.

The subject of our calling is divided into 4 parts/points:

Part I:  Many are Called, but Few are Chosen:

When we studied the Resurrections or different Judgment Periods, we learned that there is a greater harvest of people offered Salvation at a future time.

Zephaniah 3:9 For then I shall turn unto the peoples a clean lip so that they all call on the Name of Elohim, to serve Him with one language.

Revelation 20:5 (and the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended) – this is the first resurrection.

Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of Elohim was upon me and took me out by the Spirit of Elohim, and set me down in the midst of the valley. And it was filled with bones.

Ezekiel 37:2 And He made me pass among them, all around, and see, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and see, they were very dry.

Ezekiel 37:3 And He said to me, “Son of man, would these bones live?” And I said, “O Master Elohim, you know.”

Ezekiel 37:4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and you shall say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of Yahweh

Ezekiel 37:5 Thus said the Master Elohim to these bones, “See, I am bringing into you a spirit, and you shall live

Ezekiel 37:25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt. And they shall dwell in it, they and their children and their children’s children, forever, and My servant David be their prince forever.
