CALLED AND CHOSEN Part 2: Who Does YAH Call? Jas 2:5 Listen, my beloved brothers: Has Elohim not chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith and heirs of the reign which He promised to those who love Him? Jas 2:6 but you have shown disrespect towards the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? Jas 2:7 Do they not blaspheme that good Name by which you are called? Jas 2:8 if you truly accomplish the sovereign law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself,” you do well, Jas 2:9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being found guilty by the Torah as transgressors. Many people despise poor people, yet the mind of Messiah has pity on them and finds they are better candidates that are willing to receive His Calling. 1 Co 1:26 for look at your calling, brothers, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble. 1 Co 1:27 But Elohim has chosen the foolish matters of the world to put to shame the wise, and Elohim has chosen the weak of the world to put to shame the strong. 1 Co 1:28 And Elohim has chosen the low-born of the world and the despised, and the ones that are not, that He might bring to naught the ones that are, Prideful, mighty and noble people are seldom called because they are not humble enough to think they need YAH. Verse 28 – The things which are not —.

How does YAH look at the things which are not? How should we look at and respect those YAH has called to be our brothers and sisters? Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even YAH, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 2 We should be inspired and encouraged and see ourselves as He sees us – as His Sons and Daughters and future Bride for His Son. Part 3 – What Does YAH Call Us Out Of? Act 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, Act 26:18 to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto YAH, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are set-apart by faith that is in me. Please notice the words to turn them from darkness to light. Eph 6:12 says that Satan and his demons are the rulers of darkness. The word “converted” means to turn to YAH. John 1:4 says Yahshua is that light. We are called from darkness to face the light – in other words, we turn our backs on darkness, walk away from it and face the light because we are set apart by our faith in the Word. 1 Pe 2:9 but you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, Again, called out of darkness. Darkness is deception, paganism, Gnosticism, and false religion. Light is Yahshua and His truth. Joh 3:21 “But he that does the truth comes to the light, so that his works are clearly seen, that they have been wrought in Elohim.” We are called out of the world, out of darkness and deception. Yet some succumb to the influences and temptations, Satan is constantly challenging us with- to go back into the world and fellow with those who have not be called into his fellowship. 2 Co 6:14 Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? And what fellowship has light with darkness? 3 2Co 6:15 and what agreement has Messiah with Beliyaʽal? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever? 2 Co 6:16 and what union has the Dwelling Place of Elohim with idols? For you are a Dwelling Place of the living Elohim, as Elohim has said, “I shall dwell in them and walk among them, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.” 2 Co 6:17 Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says יהוה ,and do not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you. We are to keep ourselves separate otherwise we can fall back under the influence of Satan’s spirit and false/pagan practices.

This does not mean we do not associate with non-believers, but rather we do not have spiritual fellowship with them. Eph 2:2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, Satan’s spirit works in the children of disobedience. Disobedience is being disobedient to the things that make us Set Apart – The Sabbath, Clean Foods, and obeying His Word of truth and not participating in pagan traditions. 2 Co 11:2 for I am jealous for you with a jealousy according to Elohim. For I gave you in marriage to one husband, to present you as an innocent maiden to Messiah. 2 Co 11:3 But I am afraid, lest, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Messiah. 2 Co 11:4 for, indeed, if he who is coming proclaims another יהושע ,whom we have not proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different Good News which you have not accepted, you put up with it well enough!

2 Co 11:13 for such are false emissaries, deceptive workers, masquerading as emissaries of Messiah. 2 Co 11:14 and no wonder! For Satan himself masquerades as a messenger of light! 2 Co 11:15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works! 4 Paul is warning the Corinthian Assembly (the called out ones) about the other Messiah, the other gospel, the other spirit which are all false practices of mainstream religion today that worship the god of this world. 2 Co 4:4 in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Yahshua, who is the image of YAH, should shine unto them. Please notice it says Satan has blinded them from the Light that we walk in and are called to be in. Joh 1:7 this one came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all might believe through him. It is that light that we are to have fellowship with. It is possible that once we receive the Spirit to Quench that Spirit and lose it. 2 Pe 2:20 for if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Master and Savior יהושע Messiah, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the first. 2 Pe 2:21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the set-apart command delivered unto them. 2 Pe 2:22 for them the proverb has proved true, “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “A washed sow returns to her rolling in the mud.” I will comment in more detail how I watched first hand, these things happen with the break-up of WCG. Point 4: The Purpose and Goal of Our Calling: Our calling puts us into a special relationship with Him. 1 Co 1:9 Elohim is trustworthy, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, יהושע Messiah our Master. 5 He works in our life to help us overcome and work things out in our lives because of this calling. Rom 8:28 and we know that all matters work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are called according to His purpose. Rom 8:29 because those whom He knew beforehand, He also ordained beforehand to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, for Him to be the first-born among many brothers. Rom 8:30 and whom He ordained beforehand, these He also called, and whom He called, these He also declared right.

And whom He declared right, these He also esteemed. Paul had the vision of His calling and kept everything in proper perspective and priorities. Php 3:8 what is more, I even count all to be loss because of the excellence of the knowledge of Messiah יהושע my Master, for whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them as refuse, in order to gain Messiah, Php 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through belief in Messiah, the righteousness which is from Elohim on the basis of belief, Php 3:10 to know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, Php 3:11 if somehow I might attain to the resurrection from the dead. Php 3:12 Not that I have already received, or already been perfected, but I press on, to lay hold of that for which Messiah יהושע has also laid hold of me.

Php 3:13 Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold of it yet, but only this: forgetting what is behind and reaching out for what lies ahead, Php 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of Elohim in Messiah יהושע. What is that high calling Paul is speaking of? 1 Pe 2:9 but you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, We will be Kings and Priests ruling and reigning with Yahshua. 6 Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones – and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them – and the lives of those who had been beheaded because of the witness they bore to יהושע and because of the Word of Elohim, and who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive his mark upon their foreheads or upon their hands. And they lived and reigned with Messiah for a thousand years We are facing hard days ahead, yet He has many wonderful promises to those He has called. Joe 2:32 “And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be delivered. For on Mount Tsiyon and in Yerushalayim there shall be an escape as יהוה has said, and among the survivors whom יהוה calls. Physical deliverance would be very welcome as this world becomes even darker and yet the ultimate goal is to be His Bride. Rev 19:7 “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him praise, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife prepared herself.” Rev 19:8 And to her it was given to be dressed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteousness’s of the set-apart ones. Rev 19:9 And he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true words of Elohim. Let us prepare ourselves as His special called out ones. How precious and wonderful is our Calling. © Author: Larry Scher – Minister – 5-17-2017

Roman Catholic and Protestant Confessions about Sunday

Roman Catholic and Protestant Confessions about Sunday.

The vast majority of Christian churches today teach the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, as a time for rest and worship. Yet it is generally known and freely admitted that the early Christians observed the seventh day as the Sabbath. How did this change come about? Roman Catholic and Protestant Confessions about Sunday.
The vast majority of Christian churches today teach the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, as a time for rest and worship. Yet it is generally known and freely admitted that the early Christians observed the seventh day as the Sabbath. How did this change come about?
History reveals that it was decades after the death of the apostles that a politico religious system repudiated the Sabbath of Scripture and substituted the observance of the first day of the week. The following quotations, all from Roman Catholic sources, freely acknowledge that there is no Biblical authority for the observance of Sunday, that it was the Roman Church that changed the Sabbath to the first day of the week.

In the second portion of this booklet are quotations from Protestants. Undoubtedly all of these noted clergymen, scholars, and writers kept Sunday, but they all frankly admit that there is no Biblical authority for a first-day sabbath. Roman Catholic Confessions:
James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of our Fathers, 88th ed., pp. 89.
“But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.” Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed., p. 174.
“Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute  festivals of precept?
“Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her-she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.” John Laux, A Course in Religion for Catholic High Schools and Academies (1 936), vol. 1, P. 51. “Some theologians have held that Yah likewise directly determined the Sunday as the day of worship in the New Law, that He Himself has explicitly substituted the Sunday for
the Sabbath. But this theory is now entirely abandoned. It is now commonly held that  God simply gave His Church the power to set aside whatever day or days she would deem suitable as Set Apart Days. The Church chose Sunday, the first day of the week, and in the course of time added other days as holy days.” Daniel Ferres, ed., Manual of Christian Doctrine (1916), p.67.
“Question: How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and Set Apart days?
“Answer. By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of, and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church.’
James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore (1877-1921), in a signed letter.
“Is Saturday the seventh day according to the Bible and the Ten Commandments? I answer yes. Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the seventh day -Saturday – for Sunday, the first day? I answer yes . Did Yahshua change the day? I answer no!
“Faithfully yours, J. Card. Gibbons” The Catholic Mirror, official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893. “The Catholic Church, . . . by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.”
Catholic Virginian Oct. 3, 1947, p. 9, art. “To Tell You the Truth.”
“For example, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Yahshua or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of Yah given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the[Roman Catholic] church outside the Bible.”
Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1957), p. 50. “Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
“Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.
“Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
“Answer. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.”
Martin J. Scott, Things Catholics Are Asked About (1927),p. 136.
“Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that worship should be changed from Saturday to Sunday …. Now the Church … instituted, by Yah’s authority, Sunday as the day of worship. This same Church, by the same divine authority, taught the doctrine of Purgatory long before the Bible was made. We have, therefore, the same authority for Purgatory as we have for Sunday.”
Peter R. Kraemer, Catholic Church Extension Society (1975),Chicago, Illinois.
“Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts:
“1) That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe the Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man.
“2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change, made this law,
as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages and a thousand other laws.
“It is always somewhat laughable, to see the Protestant churches, in pulpit and legislation, demand the observance of Sunday, of which there is nothing in their Bible.”
T. Enright, C.S.S.R., in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas, Feb. 18,1884.
“I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says, ‘Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.’ The Catholic Church says: ‘No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week.’ And lo! The entire civilized world
bows down in a reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church.”
Protestant Confessions: Protestant theologians and preachers from a wide spectrum of denominations have been quite candid in admitting that there is no Biblical authority for observing Sunday as a sabbath.
Anglican/Episcopal Isaac Williams, Plain Sermons on the Catechism , vol. 1, pp.334, 336.
“And where are we told in the Scriptures that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the seventh; but we are nowhere commanded to keep the first day …. The reason why we keep the first day of the week holy instead of the seventh is for the same reason that we observe many other things, not because the Bible, but because the church has enjoined it.”
Canon Eyton, The Ten Commandments , pp. 52, 63, 65.
“There is no word, no hint, in the New Testament about abstaining from work on Sunday …. into the rest of Sunday no divine law enters…. The observance of Ash Wednesday or Lent stands exactly on the same footing as the observance of Sunday.” Bishop Seymour, Why We Keep Sunday .
We have made the change from the seventh day to the first day, from Saturday to Sunday, on the authority of the one holy Catholic Church.”
Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, a paper read before a New York ministers’ conference, Nov. 13, 1893, reported in New York Examiner , Nov.16, 1893.
“There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week …. Where can the record of such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament absolutely not. “To me it seems unaccountable that Jesus, during three years’ intercourse with His disciples, often conversing with them upon the Sabbath question . . . never alluded to any transference of the day; also, that during forty days of His resurrection life, no such
thing was intimated.
“Of course, I quite well know that Sunday did come into use in early Christian history . . . . But what a pity it comes branded with the mark of paganism, and christened with the name of the sun god, adopted and sanctioned by the papal apostasy, and bequeathed as a sacred legacy to Protestantism!”
William Owen Carver, The Lord’s Day in Our Day , p. 49.
“There was never any formal or authoritative change from the Jewish seventh-day Sabbath to the Christian first-day observance.”
Dr. R. W. Dale, The Ten Commandments (New York: Eaton &Mains), p. 127-129. ” . . . it is quite clear that however rigidly or devotedly we may spend Sunday, we are not keeping the Sabbath – . . ‘Me Sabbath was founded on a specific Divine command. We can plead no such command for the obligation to observe Sunday …. There is not a
single sentence in the New Testament to suggest that we incur any penalty by violating the supposed sanctity of Sunday.”
Timothy Dwight, Theology: Explained and Defended (1823), Ser. 107, vol. 3, p. 258.
” . . . the Christian Sabbath [Sunday] is not in the Scriptures, and was not by the primitive Church called the Sabbath.” Disciples of Christ”
Alexander Campbell, The Christian Baptist, Feb. 2, 1824,vol. 1. no. 7, p. 164.
“‘But,’ say some, ‘it was changed from the seventh to the first day.’ Where? when? and by whom? No man can tell. No; it never was changed, nor could it be, unless creation was to be gone through again: for the reason assigned must be changed before the observance, or respect to the reason, can be changed! It is all old wives’ fables to talk of the change of the Sabbath from the seventh to the first day. If it be changed, it was that august personage changed it who changes times and laws ex officio – I think his name is Doctor Antichrist.’ First Day Observance , pp. 17, 19. “The first day of the week is commonly called the Sabbath. This is a mistake. The Sabbath of the Bible was the day just preceding the first day of the week. The first day
of the week is never called the Sabbath anywhere in the entire Scriptures. It is also an error to talk about the change of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. There is not in any place in the Bible any intimation of such a change.” Lutheran The Sunday Problem , a study book of the United Lutheran Church (1923), p. 36.
“We have seen how gradually the impression of the Jewish sabbath faded from the mind of the Christian Church, and how completely the newer thought underlying the observance of the first day took possession of the church. We have seen that the Christians of the first three centuries never confused one with the other, but for a time celebrated both.”
Augsburg Confession of Faith art. 28; written by Melanchthon, approved by Martin Luther, 1530; as published in The Book of Concord of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Henry Jacobs, ed. (1 91 1), p. 63.
“They [Roman Catholics] refer to the Sabbath Day, a shaving been changed into the Lord’s Day, contrary to the Decalogue, as it seems. Neither is there any example whereof they make more than concerning the changing of the Sabbath Day. Great, say  they, is the power of the Church, since it has dispensed with one of the Ten Commandments!”
Dr. Augustus Neander, The History of the Christian Religion and Church Henry John Rose, tr. (1843), p. 186.
“The festival of Sunday, like all other festivals, was always only a human ordinance, and it was far from the intentions of the apostles to establish a Divine command in this respect, far from them, and from the early apostolic Church, to transfer the laws of the Sabbath to Sunday.”
John Theodore Mueller, Sabbath or Sunday , pp. 15, 16.
“But they err in teaching that Sunday has taken the place of the Old Testament Sabbath and therefore must be kept as the seventh day had to be kept by the children of Israel …. These churches err in their teaching, for Scripture has in no way ordained the first day of the week in place of the Sabbath. There is simply no law in the New Testament to that effect.”
Methodist Harris Franklin Rall, Christian Advocate, July 2, 1942, p.26.
“Take the matter of Sunday. There are indications in the New Testament as to how the church came to keep the first day of the week as its day of worship, but there is no passage telling Christians to keep that day, or to transfer the Jewish Sabbath to that day.”
John Wesley, The Works of the Rev. John Wesley, A.M., John Emory, ed. (New York: Eaton & Mains), Sermon 25,vol. 1, p. 221.
“But, the moral law contained in the ten commandments, and enforced by the prophets, he [Yahshua] did not take away. It was not the design of his coming to revoke any part of this. This is a law which never can be broken …. Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind, and in all ages; as not depending either on time or place, or any other circumstances liable to change, but on the nature of Yah and the nature of man, and their unchangeable relation to each other.” Dwight L. Moody
D. L. Moody, Weighed and Wanting (Fleming H. Revell Co.: New York), pp. 47, 48. The Sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. This fourth commandment begins with the word ‘remember,’ showing that the Sabbath already existed when Yah Wrote the law on the tables of stone at Sinai. How can men claim that this one commandment has been done away with when they will admit that the other nine are still binding?”
Presbyterian T. C. Blake, D.D., Theology Condensed, pp.474, 475.
“The Sabbath is a part of the decalogue – the Ten Commandments. This alone forever settles the question as to the perpetuity of the institution . . . . Until, therefore, it can be shown that the whole moral law has been repealed, the Sabbath will stand . . . . The teaching of Yahshua confirms the perpetuity of the Sabbath.”

We have all come to the conviction that there is no scriptural basis for keeping Sunday.  There are many things that could be taught about the Sabbath, but this study will focus on the meaning and practice of keeping it set apart.

Exodus 20:8-11 – Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set apart.

9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YAH thy ELOHIM: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, or thy son, or thy daughter, thy manservant, or thy maidservant, or thy cattle, or thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days YAH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YAH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. If you want to continue reading you can click on the form below::

KEEPING THE SABBATH SET-APART We have all come to the conviction that there is no scriptural basis for keeping Sunday. There are many things that could be taught about the Sabbath, but this study will focus on the meaning and practice of keeping it set apart. Exodus 20:8-11 – Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set apart. 9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YAH thy ELOHIM: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, or thy son, or thy daughter, thy manservant, or thy maidservant, or thy cattle, or thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days YAH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YAH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. Verse 11 says He blessed it. Scientific studies have proven that resting on the Sabbath rejuvenates the body more than any other day. Also it has been my personal experience that there is more of His Set Apart Spirit and peace on the Sabbath than any other day. Vs 11 also says He hallowed it – or made it set apart, sanctified and purified it. #6942 Holy – Sanctified means the day is Set Apart for a specific purpose. The day is to be pure – devoted to the worship of YAH, a day consecrated to YAH. The Set Apart Spirit and the Sabbath are part of our special identity and calling from YAH. We are called to be set apart as He is set apart as His special work and creation in us. I Pet 1:15-16 – But as he which hath called you is set apart, so be ye set-apart in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye set-apart; for I am set-apart.

The Sabbath is a sign between YAH and His people. It is our special identity with Him. Exodus 31:13-17 – Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall Keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am YAH that doth sanctify you. 14 Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, set-apart to YAH: whosoever doeth any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever:

for in six days YAH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. These scriptures not only say it is a special sign between YAH and His people and because of the Sabbath YAH sanctifies us – or sets us apart from the rest of the world. We are also set apart because we obey His Word of Truth. John 17:17 – Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. This is all a part of our covenant relationship with Him. Ancient Israel went into captivity because of Sabbath breaking. There are many scriptures that show YAH’s displeasure with Israel over profaning the Sabbath. Ezek 20:12 – Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am YAH that set-apart them. When the Sabbath is polluted it means it is desecrated, profaned or made common which is the complete opposite of set apart. YAH holds the priests responsible for the profaning of the Sabbath. Ezek 22:26 – Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine set-apart things: they have put no difference between the set-apart and profane, neither have they shown a difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. Isa 58:13-14 – If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my set-apart day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the set-apart of YAH, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words: 14 Then shalt thou delight yourself in YAH; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of YAH hath spoken it. There are great blessings and promises for keeping the Sabbath set apart. Isa 56:2-7 – Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keeps the Sabbath from polluting it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.

3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to YAH, speak, saying, YAH hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. 4 For thus saith YAH unto the eunuchs that keep my Sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to YAH, to serve him, and to love the name of YAH, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and takes hold of my covenant; 7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. The Sabbath is like many other things in life. The more we prepare and put into it, the greater the blessings and benefits we receive from it. It will truly be a delight when done right. Proper preparation frees us from things that could distract us from keeping the Sabbath set apart. The Preparation Day is Friday or the day before any other set-apart Day. Exodus 16:16-30 – This is the thing which YAH hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. 17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. 18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. 19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. 20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. 21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.

22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23 And he said unto them, this is that which YAH hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the set apart Sabbath unto YAH: bake that which ye will bake today, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. 24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. 25 And Moses said, Eat that today; for today is a Sabbath unto YAH: today ye shall not find it in the field. 26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none. 27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28 And YAH said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? 29 See, for that YAH hath given you the Sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. Numbers 15:32-35 – And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day. 33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. 34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

35 And YAH said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. Summary Comments: The spirit and intent of the Sabbath is very important. Set Apart – We don’t do things on the Sabbath that we could normally do during the week or on the Preparation Day. Neh 13:15-22 – In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals. 16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the Sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. 17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, what evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the Sabbath day? 18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our ELOHIM bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the Sabbath. 19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the Sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the Sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the Sabbath day. 20 So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice. 21 Then I testified against them, and said unto them, why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the Sabbath.

22 And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember me, O my ELOHIM, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy. Amos 8:5 – Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? Worship and Praise – Heb 10:25 – Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Lev 23:3 – Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an set apart convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of YAH in all your dwellings. Whenever possible, we are to assemble with others believers. This way we achieve the maximum benefit of fellowship with YAH and other Brethren. Rest and Renewal – we are either degenerating or regenerating. This is true in both a physical and a spiritual sense. Eph 4:21–24 – If so And that ye put on the new man, which after ELOHIM is creating in righteousness and true holiness be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in YAHSHUA: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conduct of the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after ELOHIM is created in righteousness and true holiness. Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of ELOHIM. Php 2:5 For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah יהושע, We have the responsibility of seeking His mind, and with the help of the Set-Apart Spirit, we can learn to think like He Thinks! We need to be Yah’s center instead of self-center if we are going to develop the mind of the Messiah. All Rights Reserved | Copyright © 2017 Author: Larry Cher-Minister.

I renounce all customs, rites, legalisms, unleavened breads and sacrifices of lambs of the Hebrews, and all the other feasts of the Hebrews, sacrifices, prayers, aspirations, purifications, sanctifications, and propitiations, and fasts and new moons, and Sabbaths, and superstitions, and hymns and chants, and observances and synagogues.

Constantine_Roman_Creed I renounce all customs, rites, legalisms, unleavened breads and sacrifices of lambs of the Hebrews, and all the other feasts of the Hebrews, sacrifices, prayers, aspirations, purification’s, sanctification’s, and propitiation’s, and fasts and new moons, and Sabbaths, and superstitions, and hymns and chants, and observances and synagogues. absolutely everything Jewish, every Law, rite and custom and if afterwards I shall wish to deny and return to Jewish superstition, or shall be found eating with Jews, or feasting with them, or secretly conversing and condemning the Christian religion instead of openly confuting them and condemning their vain faith, then let the trembling of Cain and the leprosy of Gehazi cleave to me, as well as the legal punishments to which I acknowledge myself liable. And may I be an anathema in the world to come, and may my soul be set down with Satan and the devils.” (Stefan Assemani, Acta Sanctorium Martyrum Orientalium at Occidentalium, Vol. 1, Rome 1748, page 105) Furthermore, any follower of the “Jewish Messiah” (Yahshua HaMashiach) who wished to join this “holy community” was compelled to adopt a different set of rules and customs. Subsequently special creeds were drafted, to which the Christian would have to swear such as: “1 accept all customs, rites, legalism, and feasts of the Romans, sacrifices.

Prayers, purification’s with water, sanctification’s by Pontificus Maxmus (high priests of Rome), propitiation’s, and feasts, and the New Sabbath “So! dei” (day 2 of the Sun,), all new chants and observances, and all the foods and drinks of the Romans. In other words, I absolutely accept everything Roman, every new law, rite and custom, of Rome, and the New Roman Religion.” Additionally, in approximately 365 AD, the Imperial Church of ROME, Aka Catholic Council of Laodicea wrote, in one of their canons: Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day. Rather, honoring the Lord’s Day. But if any shall be found to be Judaizers, let them be anathema (against) from Christ”. Constantine’s Christian Creed
