THE IMPORTANCE OF HIS NAME – Scripture Study. (YHWH – Yod, Hey, Waw, Hey) Enclosed you will find a study on the names. We will be covering 4 main points. Following this lesson on the web site, there is a 21 page compilation done by Assemblies in the States that is a little more indepth. What does it mean to take His Name in vain? Why we shouldn’t mix His Set-apart Name with euphemisms or names of pagan gods. What are His titles? What is His Set-apart Name and why is it important? I will not be covering how various linguistic scholars pronounce His name. I have studied the various reasons why some prefer to say the name one way or another. Some go so far as to say it is a salvation issue as to how the vowel points are placed in order to pronounce His name one way or another.
This controversy is not part of the study today. Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the YHWH your Elohim in vain; for YHWH will not hold him guiltless that taketh His Name in vain. If we take this verse and use the Hebrew word for vain, it would read more literally like this:You shall not misuse the name of YHWH your Elohim to bring it to nothing; for YHWH will not hold him guiltless that misuses His Name to bring it to nothing or make it worthless. The word “vain” in both the First Covenants. and the Renewed Covenant are very similar in meaning. Strong’s 7722, 7723, mean void of results, empty, without cause or purpose, nothingness, falsehood, worthless. 2 Verse 7 says that this practice leaves us guilty of breaking this commandment. Like all commandment breaking, unless repented of, it carries severe penalties or punishments or even death. (cause and affect). The word “sho” from #7722 also means destruction or ruin. Cause and effect. Isa 59:1 Behold, the YHWH’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your Elohim, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear. Misusing His Name or taking it in vain is a sin that can hurt our relationship with our heavenly Father. Our lives should be spent putting sin out and pleasing YHWH by building a relationship with Him not making His Name common place or profane. As we will see, His Name is very important to Him and should be to us as well. Eze 22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned my Set-apart things: they have put no difference between the Set-apart and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. His Name is set apart above all names. Profaned means common when His Name is taken in vain (for no good purpose). It makes His Name of less importance. It is no longer Set-apart from all other names or above all other names.
Eze 39:25 Therefore thus saith the YHWH Elohim; Now will I bring back again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my Set Apart Name; (There are other ways we can take His Name in vain, however, I want to make this separate in point 2.) Using Euphemisms– Or Mixing His Name With False or Pagan Gods: 3 Webster says it is a substitution of an offensive word for something that is less offensive. There are many words used as euphemisms. In this example, the spirit and intent is the key for eliminating these words out of our vocabulary. People want to curse, slander,l or take His Name in vain (this reveals the intent of their heart) so they use a less offensive substitute like oh gosh, oh golly, e-gads or oh my god (whose god?). Who or what are we crying out to? Taking His Name in vain again, means a worthless expression for a no-good purpose or crying out to what amounts to a false or pagan god. Only the individual can discern the real intent of the substitution they are using. The other consideration is the offense or discomfort we may be causing others in our speech.
When someone says “lord” – the meaning of that word is baal. And Yahshua in the same verse – this is mixing a pagan god’s name with the name of the real Messiah. Mixing the Names violates the command given in the verse below: Exo 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth. I realize how hard it is to unlearn bad habits and false beliefs formed over many years. It does take awhile, yet the first step is to understand the problem and repent of it. It is not easy. It takes time. The following verses demonstrate the importance of not using euphemisms or mixing the names: 1 Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future. We also pick up bad communication from others we associate with. Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, (building up) that it may minister favor unto the hearers.
4 Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Set-apart Spirit of Elohim, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Mat 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. (mixing names) Mat 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. (corrupt speech) Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Pure speech is very important. We will be given a new language with pure speech – one not corrupted with euphemisms or the names of pagan gods. All Names will be corrected. Zeph 3:9 “For then I shall turn unto the peoples a clean language so that they all call on the Name of יהוה ,to serve Him with one shoulder.
Jas 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Jas 3:9 Therewith bless we YHWH, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of YHWH 5 Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Jas 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Jas 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Jas 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. James also talks about hypocrisy. Jas 1:8 a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. What is Him Name? Who is the True Creator? A person cannot have it both ways. 1 Ki 18:21 And Ěliyahu came to all the people, and said, “How long would you keep hopping between two opinions? If יהוה is Elohim, follow Him; and if Ba‛al, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word. What are His Titles?: When speaking to others about YHWH’s one and only true name, people say, “but YHWH has many names. YHWH says: Psa 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose Name alone is YHWH, art the Most High over all the earth. 6 All of us have only one personal name. John Doe is a personal name, but John might have many titles based on his skills and responsibilities – for example: John is the father of two children. He is a plumber by trade and a scout master helping and teaching his children. A description of his personal name and titles might read like: John Doe is a great plumber, a very good father and a scout master for his children.
YHWH and Yahshua have many titles and responsibilities, but only one Personal Name. A good example of this is found in: Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty Elohim, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. There is a very important nuance in this verse. Please notice, it doesn’t say His Name is. It says His Name shall be called and then it follows with His Titles and Responsibilities. Isa 7:14 “Therefore יהוה Himself gives you a sign: Look, the‘almah’a conceives and gives birth to a son, and shall call His Name Immanu’ěl.b Footnotes: a Virgin/young woman. See also Explanatory Note: “Maiden”. bĚl with us. Mat 1:21 “And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע for He shall save His people from their sins.” Footnote: This is the meaning of the Hebrew of His Name. Mat 1:22 And all this came to be in order to fill what was spoken by יהוה through the prophet, saying, Mat 1:23 “See, an ‘almah’d shall conceive, and she shall give birth to a Son, and they shall call His Name Immanu’ěl,” Isa_7:14 which translated, means, “Ěl with us.” Footnote: d According to the Shem Toḇ Hebrew text and Isa_7:14. Virgin / young woman. See also Explanatory Note “Maiden”. The word “El” or “Elohim” which are the same words, is a very ancient Semitic term. Among Semitic languages it is one of the most used terms for greatness, strength or deity. In Hebrew religious usage it 7 does not denote a proper name but is used as a title. Used for the Creator’s superiority over all other as a generic term.
What is His Name and Why Is It Important? Before I explain what history and correct translation say about His Name, we need to realize that there are corruptions and translations in the Scripture. I believe the Scripture is the infallible, inspired Word of YHWH as originally written, however, man for political, cultural, egocentric and other selfserving agendas has added to or taken away from the scriptures. Something the Scripture forbids in 4 different places (Rev 22:18, Deut 4:2, Deut 12:32 and Prov 30:5-6. The Scripture says in I Thes 5:21 that we are to prove all things. This is our personal responsibility.
Once a person understands the core truths of the Scripture, it is not that hard to see the corruptions and contradictions. The historic record has not been lost or hidden. The Catholic Encyclopedia and the Jewish Encyclopedia and other scholarly works plainly state how and why many of the changes were made. In the original Hebrew, YHWH is used 6823 times. Elohim is used 2000 times. The Jewish scribes changed these words because of Talmudic law. The Talmud is the oral law based on “Jewish Traditions”, not YHWH’s written law. Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of YHWH, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of YHWH, that ye may keep your own tradition. This is why the True Names are omitted. Nowhere in scripture does YHWH say it is OK to change His Name. 8 Exo 3:15 And YHWH said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YHWH, Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
The priest also said the name was too Set-apart for the general population to use so they hid the name and the translators put in Lord and God. Lord means Baal and God is a generic term not specific to YHWH or Elohim. The Complete Word Study of the Renewed Covenant, Strong’s #2316, Theos, says “the word was originally used by the heathen and was adopted for the name of the true God.” Please note, it does not say it is the name of the True Creator, but that man adopted it. The word God was used and applied to all the different gods of the heathen nations. This adoption is contrary to what YHWH says about His Name. Isa 42:8 “I am יהוה ,that is My Name, and My esteem I do not give to another, nor My praise to idols. We are NOT to mix the names. There are several papers of credible sources that undeniably say His Name is YHWH. Some people think Jehovah and Jesus cannot be the correct names for YHWH or Yahshua as there is no letter “J” in the Hebrew language or the Greek language. The English language didn’t have a “J” until around the 1500’s A.D. Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Mat 28:19 is a corruption: Mat 28:19 “Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Namec of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit, d Footnotes: c Note: The singular. d Not found in the Hebrew Shem Toḇ text, “…and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit.” I will expound this meaning. Of all nations means all the “latter-day Israelite nations.
In the Original Meaning, the words referring to the latter Trinidadian addition “the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit,” without question, were not a part of the Original writings. The best proof that the Trinidadian language is a corruption is that there are NO Scriptural examples of any one being immersed in 3 names or 3 beings. 9 This is the most important reason of all for knowing His True Name. Pro 18:10 The name of YHWH is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and are safe. Safe is Strong’s 7682 which means: lofty, especially inaccessible; by implication safe, strong; used literally and figuratively: – defend, exalt, be excellent, (be, set on) high, lofty, be safe, set up (on high), be too strong. He makes us safe Spiritually, Physically, Mentally and Emotionally and makes us strong in these same areas when we use His Name and show Honor and Esteem to His Name through our loving obedience to Him. This is by no means an exhaustive study of the Names.
It is a wonderful undertaking to list every scripture where the word Name is used. His name is Set-apart, unlike any other name. His name is special to Him and should be special to us. We should never be casual about the use of His Name. Ancient Israel was never consistently faithful in the worship of YHWH. They eventually went into captivity for profaning the Sabbath. They had their high places and backslid into Baal worship and other pagan customs. That is why there is a warning in these following verses: Mal 2:2 “If you do not hear, and if you do not take it to heart, to give esteem to My Name,” said יהוה of hosts, “I shall send a curse upon you, and I shall curse your blessings. And indeed, I have cursed them, because you do not take it to heart.
FRUIT OF THE SET-APART SPIRIT – YHWH’S LOVE THE CREATOR’S LOVE FOR ISRAEL AND FOR US By Larry Scher
There are many major themes that run through scriptures – Prophecy, Salvation, Law and Grace (favor), the Kingdom of YHWH, etc. The one common thread these and other topics have in common is love. His love is the motivating factor for our very creation, existence and destiny. The entire physical creation is a manifestation of His love for mankind –a perfect environment for mankind to thrive and prosper in.
The following is an overview of the definitions of YHWH’s love that is mentioned in the bible. Love is both a noun and a verb. To understand love’s true meaning, it is always best to let the Bible interpret the bible. After the dictionary definitions, we will expound scriptures that best describe His love. There are other kinds of love as well, but this lesson will focus on the meanings and purposes of His agape love.
I. In the O.T. YHWH’s Love – Strong’s 2617 – hesed – loving-kindness; steadfast love; grace; mercy; faithfulness; goodness; devotion. This term is one of the most important in the vocabulary of the O.T. theology and ethics. It is identifies three basic meanings: strength, steadfastness and love. The true meaning and usage should contain all three. The word refers primarily to mutual and reciprocal rights and obligations between the parties of a (covenant) relationship as between YHWH and Israel. The weaker party seeks the protection and blessing of the protector. The stronger party remains committed to His promise, but retains his freedom, especially with regard to the manner in which he will implement those promises. Hesed implies personal involvement and commitment in a relationship beyond the rule of law.
Martial love (another covenant) is often related to hesed. The prophet Hosea applies the analogy to Yahweh’s hesed to Israel within the covenant. It includes YHWH’s devotion or steadfast love for Israel including His truth, reliability, faithfulness, kindness, mercies and faithfulnesses are his specific acts of redemption in the fulfillment of His promises. Hesed can have both YHWH and man as its subject. When man is the subject, it usually describes the person’s kindness or loyalty to another person such as David and Jonathan.
The association of hesed with “covenant” keeps it from being misunderstood as mere love for all creatures; it applies primarily to YHWH’s particular love for His chosen and covenanted people. “Covenant also stresses the reciprocity of the relationship; but since YHWH’s hesed is ultimately beyond the covenant, it will not ultimately be abandoned even when the human partner is unfaithful and must be disciplined.
1 II. In the N.T. YHWH’s Love – Strong’s 25 – agapao – These are used in the N.T. to describe the attitude of YHWH toward His Son, to Believers (His Children) in conveying His will toward them and also concerning their attitude towards one another and to express the essential nature of YHWH. This love is known by the actions it prompts. It is a deliberate choice, made without cause, and is expressed by His nature alone. Yahshua displayed this perfect love in His sacrifice for us. His covenant love expresses itself in implicit obedience to His commandments. The whole law is summed up in love. Love is also the first “fruit of the Spirit” mentioned as it must be present to be the main factor that helps produce all the others. Self-will or self-pleasing is the negation of this love to YHWH. A true believer’s love is not an impulse from feelings. This love seeks the welfare of all, works no ill to any, and seeks opportunity to do good to all men, especially our brothers and sisters in the Truth. As used of YHWH, it expresses the deep and constant love and interest of a perfect Being towards His Children which fosters a reverential love in them towards their Father. YHWH is Love.
Love is a massive topic, so today we are just going to cover love as a fruit of the Spirit.
Rom 5:5 and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of Elohim hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Set-apart Spirit which was given unto us.
1Co 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal. This verse states the power of the Spirit manifests itself or one could say reveals itself as spiritual gifts. In Gal 5:22-23 it manifests itself as a fruit comprised of 9 different characteristics or personality traits that YHWH has in Himself. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.
Today we will divide love into three areas. How YHWH loves us, how we are to Love YHWH and how we are to love others with agape love (His love).
I. How does YHWH love us?
Joh 3:16 For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (4100 – pisteuo- verb – to believe, to be persuaded of, to place confidence in, to trust, reliance upon not mere credence) on him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
2 Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of YHWH leadeth thee to repentance? Rom 5:8 But Elohim proves His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Messiah died for us.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, Rom 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Elohim, which is in Yahshua our Master.
2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the set-apart scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith in Yahshua Messiah. 2Ti 3:16 All scriptures is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2Ti 3:17 That the man of YHWH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
1Jn 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not YHWH; for YHWH is love. 1Jn 4:9 In this was manifested the love of YHWH toward us, because that YHWH sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
1 Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved YHWH, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. II. How Do We Love YHWH and Yahshua? 1 Jn 5:3 For this is the love of YHWH, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
One way to describe the commandments is that they are the law of love. The first four teach us how to love YHWH and the last six teach us how to love others. The first four are:
3 Exo 20:1 And YHWH spoke all these words, saying, Exo 20:2 I am YHWH thy Elohim, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other elohims before me. Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I YHWH thy Elohim am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me, Exo 20:6 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of YHWH thy Elohim in vain; for YHWH will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Exo 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart. Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto YHWH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid- servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Exo 20:11 for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHWH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
We always need to be asking ourselves, Who is First because anything less is idolatry. The manifestation of our love for YHWH is through our obedience to His laws and Words.
Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Deu 30:20 to love YHWH thy Elohim, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which YHWH sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
4 Loving and obeying Him brings great blessings.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love YHWH, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Joh 14:23 Yahshua answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Joh 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
III. How Do We Love Each Other?
The last 6 commandments express how we love one another.
Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee.
Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Exo 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Exo 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Exo 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Exo 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour’s.
At this point, I think it is important to note that love for others can have deep feelings and emotions, but this does not have to be the case. We can love others without necessarily liking them. We all have different personalities and backgrounds and interests. Friendship can be different than agape love. We don’t have to like everyone, but we do have to love everyone – i.e. treat others in the context of the last 6 commandments and respect others rights and feelings. We should always have out-
5 going concern for the well-being of others. Moses and Abraham are mentioned as being friends of YHWH
Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Joh 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Joh 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his Elohim doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
In the N.C. Yahshua wants to have a relationship with us on many different levels. We are the Bride. We are Sons and Daughters. We are brothers and sisters in Messiah, and through our obedience to His Word, He also wants to call us friends.
My wife is many things to me, my bride, my help-meet, and also my best friend and confident.
Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
YHWH is not a respecter of persons. He loves everyone as much as He loves Yahshua. He wants everyone to have a chance for salvation. We too, should want the best for everyone too.
Rom 13:8 Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
I Cor 13 is another way in which love can manifest itself in our relationships with others. Rather than law governing our relationships with others, also included is kindness, manners, self-control, humility as we relate to others in how we express our love for them. not charity, 1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
6 1 Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1 Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1 Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1 Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1 Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
How we love others is inseparable from how we love YHWH and Yahshua. The fabric of love is inter-woven by the indwelling of the Set-apart Spirit and Yahshua living His life in us by the power of His Spirit and Word guiding our every step, our thoughts and our actions. I John 4 is a good example of how these things are entwined. 1 Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of YHWH; and every one that loveth is born of YHWH, and knoweth YHWH.
1 Jn 4:11 Beloved, if YHWH so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 Jn 4:12 No man hath seen YHWH at any time. If we love one another, YHWH dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
1 Jn 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 1 Jn 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 1Jn 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Yahshya is the Son of YHWH, YHWH dwelleth in him, and he in YHWH.
1 Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that YHWH hath to us. YHWH is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in YHWH, and YHWH in him. 1 Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
7 1 Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. 1 Jn 4:20 If a man say, I love YHWH, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love YHWH whom he hath not seen? 1 Jn 4:21 And this commandment we have from him, That he who loveth YHWH love his brother also.
1 Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of YHWH, when we love YHWH, and keep his commandments. John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you. Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
I John 3:18 says we should not just love in word only but in deeds. Actions speak louder than words and are much more powerful in what they accomplish in the lives of others. Matthew 25 is a good example of deeds we can do to manifest our love towards others.
Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mat 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Yahshua, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. Mat 25:46 And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
8 Love is a way of life as demonstrated by keeping the commandments, living by Torah and doing good works and deeds for others. Love is the main building block and pathway to the Kingdom. We all need to examine our lives daily to see if we are walking in this way of love. Straight is the way and narrow is the path that leads to life and few there be that find it. Remember to love each day so we all can stay on the right path.

Isa 63:11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his set-apart Spirit within him? This brief study is concerned with answering the question “what is the heart” from a scriptural perspective. The heart, according to the scripture, is part of man’s spiritual makeup. It is the place where emotions and desires begin; it is that which drives the will of man towards action. The physical heart is an organ that pumps blood. Poets also have a lot to say about the heart. However, the heart of man as described in the Scripture is primarily a spiritual organ that drives man’s behavior.
We know that the heart is the starting place for spiritual life because of what the Scripture says about Yah’s actions toward the human heart. In order to get people to desire what He desires, Yah must “remove the heart of stone” and replace it with “a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26).
