SCRIPTURE STUDY ON CALL AND CHOSEN
Today we will be studying a subject that most of the religious and secular world can’t understand. Why? Because they are not “Called.” Only those who receive and accept the call can understand its real meaning and application in their lives. We need to be sober and humbled by the magnitude of the specialness and hope of this calling. It is empowering to change our lives and strengthen us through the days ahead.
This is a subject to embrace with all our hearts – to put our arms and minds around with joy and gladness – and at the same time, never let others or the powers of darkness rob us of the hope of our Calling. This is a subject to spend quality, serious time meditating and praying about it until we can make its meaning a core part of our very being and hope.
Definitions of Call, Called, Calling, etc:
Old Testament:
Strong’s #1721 – Qara – To cry out, call aloud, roar; to proclaim, pronounce, preach; to call, summon (to court), to invite, to implore; to call together, to appoint, to praise, to celebrate, to call by name, to be called to be summoned, to call together, to be named, to read aloud, the enunciation of a specific vocal message. Calling upon the name of Yahweh, to summon His aid, summon for a specific task, a critical need, pray to Yahweh to reverse a curse. The prophets predicted the Gentiles would call upon Yahweh and serve Him. (Zephaniah 3:9, Isaiah 65:24, Joel 2:32) and He will answer them. Whosoever calls upon the name of Yahweh shall be delivered. It is usually addressed to a specific recipient and intended to elicit a specific response. It is used to represent a specific name. The naming of a person may characterize or specify an individual’s primary characteristics. It also means to declare a prophetic message.
Strong’s #5749 – ud – A verb meaning to bear witness, to testify, to serve as a witness or testify against someone, through falsely or in favor of someone. It can also mean to admonish someone, to warn solemnly, such warnings frequently came from Yahweh, they were also mediated through His prophets. It can mean to call to witness, to take as a witness, to obtain witnesses.

Do you know the way we should be called and the way we should be acting?
There are a few really popular terms out there that people like to call themselves and their Assemblies, Congregations or Churches.
Congregation of Yahweh,Yahuwah, Yahshua, Messiah, Assembly of the same or Church of¬¬¬¬¬¬¬_______. Synagogue or Synagogue of ____ You get the Idea.
This may be OK, but is it really what the Father is looking for in what we supposed to call ourselves?
When he addressed the Assemblies in Rev he called them by the city’s that they were in.
Rev 3:1 “And to the messenger of the assembly in Sardis write, ‘He who has the seven Spirits of Elohim and the seven stars, says this, “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.
Rev 3:7 “And to the messenger of the assembly in Philadelphia write, ‘He who is set-apart, He who is true, He who has the key of Dawiḏ, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens, says this:
Rev 3:14 “And to the messenger of the assembly in Laodikeia write, ‘The Amĕn, the Trustworthy and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of Elohim,1 says this:

a. The act of assembling.
b. The state of being assembled.
2. A group of persons gathered together for a common reason, as for a legislative, religious, educational, or social purpose.
So this still is not really what they called themselves.
The Ecclesia or the Greek Ekklesia; Ecclesia and Synagoga, meaning “Church and Synagogue”, are a pair of figures personifying the Roman Catholic Church and the Jewish synagogue found in medieval Christian art. The coin phrase CHURCH is what they say it means. Is this really true?
It really means Assembly, Congregation or The called out ones. This is not bad, but again is this really the what defines us as followers of the true HaMashyach and one that guards all the commands of Father Yah? There are so many definitions for the name in so many languages.
Then we have the other two really popular terms that so many people like to use to define themselves as followers of the one true HaMashyach. They define themselves as Nazarene or Messianic.
Are these the terms that were used for Messiah and the 12?
The title “Nazarene” is first found in the Greek texts of the New Testament as an adjective, nazarenos, used as an adjectival form of the phrase apo Nazaret “from Nazareth.”[5]
Let us see where we find the term in scripture:Mat 2:19 And Herodes having died, see, a messenger of יהוה appeared in a dream to Yosĕph in Mitsrayim,
Mat 2:20 saying, “Arise, and take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Yisra’ĕl, for those seeking the life of the Child are dead.”
Mat 2:21 And rising up, he took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Yisra’ĕl.
Mat 2:22 But hearing that Archelaos was reigning over Yehuḏah instead of his father Herodes, he was afraid to go there. And having been warned in a dream, he departed to the parts of Galil,
Mat 2:23 and came and dwelt in a city called Natsareth – thus to fill what was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Natsarene.”
The Sect of the Nazarenes (1st century)

The name Nazaraios is the standard Greek spelling in the New Testament for a man from Nazareth, the plural Nazaraioi means “men from Nazareth” (see Nazarene (title)).[6] The title Nazarenes, “men from Nazareth,” is first applied to the Christians by Tertullus (Acts 24:5 ), though Herod Agrippa II (Acts 26:28 ) uses the term “Christians” which had first been used at Antioch (Acts 11:26 ). The name used by Tertullus survives into Rabbinical and modern Hebrew as notzrim (נוצרים) a standard Hebrew term for “Christian”, and also into the Quran and modern Arabic as nasara (plural of nasrani “Christians”). The Arabic word nasara (نَصارى) comes from the Arabic root “n s r” (ن ص ر).
However, since “Christian” was the name the Christians accepted themselves, and is in 1 Peter, the term “Nazarene” used by Tertullus appears to have never been adopted by Christians. Tertullian (c. 160 – c. 220, Against Marcion, 4:8) records that the Jews called Christians “Nazarenes” from their false messiah being a man of Nazareth, though he also makes the connection with Nazarites in Lamentations 4:7 .[7] Jerome too records that “Nazarenes” was employed of Christians in the synagogues.[8] Eusebius, around 311 AD, records that the name “Nazarenes” had formerly been used of Christians.[9] The use relating to a specific “sect” of Christians does not occur until Epiphanius.[10] Epiphanius (see below) in discussing the 4th Century Nazarene sect claims pre-Christian origins for the sect, but there seems to be no evidence of the term prior to Tertullus, and no evidence for Epiphanius’ opinion. According to Ehrhardt, just as Antioch coined the term Christians, so Jerusalem coined the term Nazarenes, from Messiah of Nazareth.[11] The term ‘Christians’ is derogatory, and was created by the Greek Romans to deride the new Gentile believers of the Way in the Hebrew Messiah. There is a word in Greek, Christos, used in various other literatures referring to some ‘god” or leader of people, used before Sha’ul’s time — which was then applied in a negative way to the non-Hebrew believers of the Way.
The terms “sect of the Nazarenes” and ” HaMashayach of Nazareth” both employ the adjective nasraya (ܕܢܨܪܝܐ) in the Syrian Aramaic Peshitta, from Nasrat (ܢܨܪܬ) for Nazareth.[12][13][14]According to Epiphanius in his Panarion the 4th Century Nazarenes were originally Jewish converts of the Apostles[15] who fled Jerusalem because of Jesus’ prophecy on its coming siege (during the Great Jewish Revolt in 70 AD). They fled to Pella, Peraea (northeast of Jerusalem), and eventually spread outwards to Beroea and Bashanitis, where they permanently settled.[16]
The Nazarenes were an early Jewish Christian sect located in and about Jerusalem which proclaimed messiah of Nazareth was the promised Messiah and the Son of God. The deity of prosperity and money The Nazarenes were similar to the Ebionites, in that they considered themselves Jews, maintained an adherence to the Law of Moses, and used only the Aramaic Gospel of the Hebrews, rejecting all the Canonical gospels. However, unlike half of the Ebionites, they accepted the Virgin Birth.[21][22]
Who are they really today?
About the Church of the Nazarene
GENERAL DESCRIPTION — The Church of the Nazarene is an international denomination of nearly one million members, about half of whom live in the United States. The largest of the churches that originated out of the American holiness revival of the 19th century, it was organized in 1908 through the merger of three regional holiness bodies. It is Wesleyan in doctrine and related theologically to the Free Methodists, the Wesleyans, the Salvation Army, and traditionalist sectors of the United Methodist Church. FOUNDERS — Key leaders in the 1908 merger were Phineas F. Bresee, co-founder in 1895 of a Pacific Coast-based church also known as the Church of the Nazarene; Hiram F. Reynolds, missionary secretary of the Northeastern-based Association of Pentecostal Churches of America (organized 1896 from antecedents dating from 1890 and 1895); and Charles B. Jernigan and Mary Lee Cagle of the Holiness Church of Christ, a Southern denomination (organized 1904 from antecedents dating from 1894 and 1901). All four were ordained ministers and had backgrounds in Methodism. Bresee and Reynolds were elected general superintendents of the new denomination. Bresee’s unique contribution was to shape the church’s frame of government, while Reynolds stamped it with a strong missionary emphasis.
Other key leaders include Roy T. Williams and James Blame Chapman, second generation leaders of the Board of General Superintendents. Benjamin F. Haynes was founding editor of the church paper Herald of Holiness. Aaron Merritt Hills (Fundamental Christian Theolog)’, 2 vols., 1931) and H. Orton Wiley (Christian Theology, 3 vols, 1941-43) were significant leaders in shaping early theological development.
DOCTRINES — The Church of the Nazarene is an orthodox Protestant body that adheres to the ecumenical creeds of the early Christian church. The theology of Methodist founder John Wesley (1703-91), who integrated the Protestant understanding of grace with the Catholic themes of holiness and love, is foundational for Nazarene doctrine. Nazarenes emphasize Christian conversion, sanctification or holiness, and the personal assurance of God’s grace – Wesleyan distinctives that point back to a deeper rootage in continental European pietism. Discipleship is a prominent concern. An emphasis on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit has generally prevented Nazarenes from slipping into the static Biblicism that sometimes affects other evangelical Protestants. The Church of the Nazarene recognizes two sacraments: Christian baptism and Holy Communion. Believers’ baptism and infant baptism are both allowed, though the former is most generally practiced.
So is this the term we really want to use to call ourselves, is this the label we are looking for? Is this how we are supposed to act, combining Protestantism with Catholicism? Is this how HaMashyach walked, blending religions and practicing things found nowhere in scripture?
We know the answer to this question, a big fat NO.
This is really not the label we want to be calling ourselves either it does not say who or what we stand for.
How about Messianic, should we be calling ourselves this? Is this what Messiah called himself or the 12, did they go around telling everyone this is what they were?
Messianic primarily means ‘of the Messiah’. A psychological state of mind is what you really are when you say you are Messianic. However so many groups call themselves Messianic, but they are so different from one group to the next. Their beliefs are so different. There is no consistency with them.
What Messiah are we talking about that they are of? There are so many false Messiahs, how do we know that we are talking about the true messiah that we are really supposed to be following? Mat 24:24 “For false messiahs and false prophets shall arise, and they shall show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
Mat 24:25 “See, I have forewarned you.
Is this the messiah that tells us to keep all the man-made pagan holidays and birth days, are we or are you of this Messiah?
Is your messiah the one who tells you it is OK to go off of the Talmud, to still call each other Rabbi and has schools where you can become a Rabbi? Mat_23:8 “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi,’ for One is your Teacher, the Messiah, and you are all brothers. Are you of this Messiah? Do you think this is the true HaMashyach we are to be following?
How about the Elohim of the pre-messiah time, that was the word that became flesh and tells us to keep Torah, teach Torah and all of scripture. Is this the Messiah we are talking about, who did not tell his 12 to call themselves messianic? So do see here, saying you are Messianic really does not tell me or anyone else that studies scripture, other messianic groups or history that much at all. I only mentioned a few types of Messianic for you to get the point of how important this is. There are so many more. For sake of time I am not going to mention all of them. It would fill up many pages if I was to do so.
Let us go and find the term in scripture:
1Pe 4:14 If you are reproached for the Name of Messiah, you are blessed, because the Spirit of esteem and of Elohim rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is praised.
1Pe 4:15 For do not let any of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or doer of evil, or as a meddler.
1Pe 4:16 But if one suffers being Messianic, let him not be ashamed, but let him esteem Elohim in this matter.
1Pe 4:17 Because it is time for judgment to begin from the House of Elohim. And if firstly from us, what is the end of those who do not obey the Good News of Elohim?
1Pe 4:18 And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where shall the wicked and the sinner appear?
1Pe 4:19 So then, those who suffer according to the desire of Elohim should commit their lives to a trustworthy Creator, in doing good.
The Term Messianic is not used throughout scripture. It is not used as the term to say who HaMashyach and the 12 apostles really were. Should we not be using the term they used if we really want to be like Messiah, to walk like he walked? Are we not told to walk as he walked?
1Jn 2:5 But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected1 in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
1Jn 2:6 The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.
Did they use a term that was used before Messiah came into the picture that was not Messianic or Nazarene?
Gen 18:16 And the men rose up from there and looked toward Seḏom, and Aḇraham went with them to send them away.
Gen 18:17 And יהוה said, “Shall I hide from Aḇraham what I am doing,
Gen 18:18 since Aḇraham is certainly going to become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
Gen 18:19 “For I have known him, so that he commands his children and his household after him, to guard the Way of יהוה, to do righteousness and right-ruling, so that יהוה brings to Aḇraham what He has spoken to him.”
The W is capitalized in different scriptures, as to show us the difference between the Way and the other word the way. So now you should start to get the idea of what this is all about. Not all scriptures have been translated properly and have it in them so you can clearly see this has been there from Gen. I will share a few other examples of it so you can get a better idea of what the importance of this is.
Mal 2:5 “My covenant with him was life and peace, and I gave them to him, to fear. And he feared Me, and stood in awe of My Name.
Mal 2:6 “The Torah of truth1 was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and straightness, and turned many away from crookedness.
Mal 2:7 “For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and they seek the Torah from his mouth, for he is the messenger of יהוה of hosts.
Mal 2:8 “But you, you have turned from the Way, you have caused many to stumble in the Torah. You have corrupted the covenant of Lĕwi,” said יהוה of hosts.
This is a really good example of it right here in Mal 2:8. Once you know about it you will start to see it in many places throughout scripture.
Mal 2:9 “And I also, I shall make you despised and low before all the people, because you are not guarding My ways, and are showing partiality in the Torah.”
Act 9:1 But Sha’ul, still breathing threats and murder against the taught ones of the Master, having come to the high priest,
Act 9:2 asked from him letters to the congregations of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, to bring them bound to Yerushalayim.
Now we start to get a really good description of what we should really be calling ourselves from what they were truly called.
Act 9:3 And it came to be, that as he journeyed, he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light flashed around him from the heaven.
Act 9:4 And he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Sha’ul, Sha’ul, why do you persecute Me?”
Act 9:5 And he said, “Who are You, Master?” And the Master said, “I am יהושע, whom you persecute. It is hard for you to kick against the prods.”
Act 9:6 Both trembling, and being astonished, he said, “Master, what do You wish me to do?” And the Master said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you shall be told what you have to do.”
Act 18:25 This one had been instructed in the way of the Master. And being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching the matters about the Master exactly, though he knew only the immersion of Yoḥanan.
Act 19:7 And all the men were about twelve.
Act 19:8 And having gone into the congregation he spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the reign of Elohim.
Act 19:9 But when some were hardened and did not believe, speaking evil of the Way before the crowd, he withdrew from them and
(Here we see evil was being spoken about “of the Way”, not Messianic or of the Nazarene. We don’t see those names or labels even used here. Why do you think that is?)
separated the taught ones, reasoning daily in the school of Turannos.
Act 19:10 And this took place for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Master יהושע, both Yehuḏim and Greeks.
Act 19:11 And Elohim worked unusual miracles through the hands of Sha’ul,
Act 19:12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the wicked spirits went out of them.
Act 19:23 And about that time there came to be a great commotion about the Way.
(We see it again here. Now the Way is more than just what they called themselves, it is also what they called their teaching. It is all encompassing, something that the shoes of the terms Messianic and Nazarene could never fill. We will talk more about this shortly)
Act 24:8 commanding his accusers to come to you. And by examining him yourself you shall be able to know all these matters of which we accuse him.”
Act 24:9 And the Yehuḏim also agreed, maintaining that these matters were so.
Act 24:10 And when the governor had motioned him to speak, Sha’ul answered, “Knowing that for many years you have been a judge of this nation, I gladly defend myself,
Act 24:11 seeing you are able to know that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to Yerushalayim to worship.
Act 24:12 “And they neither found me in the Set-apart Place disputing with anyone nor stirring up the crowd, either in the congregations or in the city.
Act 24:13 “Nor are they able to prove the charges of which they now accuse me.
Act 24:14 “And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,
This is a great verse for all those Paul/Sha’ul haters that say he was against Torah and didn’t believe in it. Sha’ul defines what those in the Way believe here and says that in the way that those call a sect. He was trying to put it in their terms, so he used the term sect just as we try to do with people sometimes these days. People always want to know what and who we are. It can be hard to explain, because people always want a label that is easy to understand. Nondenominational just doesn’t cut it for them. You believe in messiah, but you keep the Sabbath and the other commands? Hebrew Roots still doesn’t mean much, because so many people lean so far to the left and want to try and be really Jewish, taking on many of their man made customs. People that come into this walk out of Christianity think they need to be really Jewish and that is not the case at all. We don’t need to be really Jewish at all. In fact we need to stay far away from the majority of what they do. I could go on and on with all the things they do that we shouldn’t do, but I am just going to focus on one really important one. We don’t observe the Feast days the way the Jewish people do. They do postponements when they keep the feast days. This means they will never have a Feast day and a Sabbath back to back, because they have added things to the Sabbath from Talmud that make the Sabbath a burden, when it should be a delight. No place in scripture have they been given the Authority to do this “add in postponements”. This is just as bad as changing the Sabbath, the 7th day of the week to the 1st day of the week. There is no difference. Moses warned the Israelites before he died about this.
Deu 8:11 “Be on guard, lest you forget יהוה your Elohim by not guarding His commands, and His right-rulings, and His laws which I command you today,
We know Jeremiah prophesied that people would the Fathers true name for that of Baal=L-rd and they also have forgotten it for the generic title g-d that has no meaning. There are thousands of g-d’s what one are they talking about. Just like what messiah are people taking about as we have already gone over.
Jer 23:25 “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy falsehood in My Name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’
Jer 23:26 “Till when shall it be in the heart of the prophets? – the prophets of falsehood and prophets of the deceit of their own heart, Jer 23:27 who try to make My people forget My Name by their dreams which everyone relates to his neighbour, as their fathers forgot My Name for Baʽal.
Getting back to Acts where we left off.
Act 24:15 having an expectation in Elohim, which they themselves also wait for, that there is to be a resurrection of the dead, both of the righteous and the unrighteous.
Act 24:16 “And in this I exercise myself to have a clear conscience toward Elohim and men always.
Act 24:17 “And after many years I came to bring kind deeds to my nation and offerings,
Act 24:18 at which time certain Yehuḏim from Asia found me cleansed in the Set-apart Place, neither with a crowd nor with disturbance,
Act 24:19 who ought to be present before you to bring charges if they have any matter against me.
Act 24:20 “Or else let these themselves say if they found any wrongdoing in me while I stood before the council,
Act 24:21 other than for this one declaration which I cried out, standing among them, ‘Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged by you today.’ ”
Act 24:22 And having heard this, having known more exactly about the Way, Felix put them off, saying, “When Lysias the commander comes down, I shall decide your case.”
Here we read that that Felix now knows more about the Way and does not want to decide the case against Sha’ul. He realizes how much there is to the Way and does not feel qualified to judge the case. We see here though that the Way is mentioned in such a manner that it has its own identity and is not just a saying, but what they were called.
Act 24:23 And he ordered the captain to keep Sha’ul and to have ease, and not to forbid any of his friends to attend to him.
Act 24:24 And after some days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a female Yehuḏite, he sent for Sha’ul and heard him concerning the belief in Messiah.
Joh_14:6 יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
If we are of the way, then we are of the true Messiah because he is the Way. If we are of the true Mashyach, then we have the truth that the rest of the world does not have. Then we are part of the body of Mashayach also. If we have the truth then we can enter in through the narrow gate and we have the ability to stay on the narrow path. We have can have life, “eternal life”. If we are of him we are also of the Father. We can’t get to the Father except through HaMashach. By saying we are of the Way or in the Way, it means so much more than just those three words. It is all encompassing of what we really are and what we should really be calling ourselves as an Identity. Everyone wants to label us, but they don’t know what to call us. Now let us read that again.
Joh_14:6 יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Can you see the deeper meaning in this?
Now we are told to walk as he walked are we not?
1Jn 2:5 But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected1 in him. By this we know that we are in Him
1Jn 2:6 The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.
How did he walk? He kept the Torah, he taught the Torah, and he referred to himself as the Way, just as it is written throughout scripture. He walked in the Way. He was part of the Way. He was the word that became flesh. So how should we refer to ourselves? Are we of the Way or in the Way? What is the Way, do we know what the Way is?
Being of the Way is more than just getting baptized. You join covenant relationship with the Father and Messiah, to become a living sacrifice for them. You are no longer living for you. As part of the covenant you agree to keep the 7th Day Sabbath, all the other Feast days of Yah, the clean food laws, share the gospel, share the good news of the Kingdom to come, you bear the testimony of HaMashyach, that he lived, died, rose again, explain how he will return again, explain the resurrection of the dead to people, you are to have the spirit of prophecy and keep the rest of the commands in scripture that apply to you. Now this does not mean that you will not sin, but you are to repent right away and not live in sin or you fall out of the covenant relationship. You fall out of the Way. You keep this Way of life and prepare yourself to be the bride of HaMashyach, a first fruit. It is Faith, Grace and Works, not just Faith or grace. All three go together. It is not like most pastors or priests teach it. They do not teach what the scriptures really say.
This is how the true disciples or the 12 of the true Messiah were described as, those that were of the Way. Can you see it? So do we want people to know of us as true disciples of HaMashyach, those who guard the Way? Those who are truly in the body of Messiah and not in a pagan church or calling themselves a name that really has no meaning. Can you see the difference?
Do you want to walk as he walked? Do you want to be of the Way?

I Corinthians 15:13 And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Messiah has not been raised.
I Corinthians 15:14 And if Messiah has not been raised, then our proclaiming is empty, and your belief also empty.
I Corinthians 15:15 And we are also found false witnesses of Elohim, because we have witnessed of Elohim that He raised up Messiah, whom He did not raise up, if then the dead are not raised.
I Corinthians 15:16 For if the dead are not raised, then neither Messiah has been raised.
I Corinthians 15:17 And if Messiah has not been raised, your belief is to no purpose, you are still in your sins!
I Corinthians 15:18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Messiah have perished.
I Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have expectation in Messiah, we are of all men the most wretched.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, and has become the first-fruit of those having fallen asleep.
As we will see, resurrections are an historical fact throughout Scripture. Some have already occurred
More are prophesied to occur in the near future.
Romans 8:29 Because those whom He knew beforehand, He also ordained beforehand to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, for Him to be the first-born among many brothers.
What is a resurrection – Strong’s #386 – Resurrection of a body from death returning to life.
Resurrections are done in three ways – one is when a person is brought back to physical life.
Another is when a person is raised a Spirit Body to inherit Eternal Life or resurrected to Eternal Death.
Some groups have tried to enumerate resurrections mentioned in Scripture calling them the 1st Resurrection, the 2nd Resurrection and the 3rd Resurrection; but beyond the 1st Resurrection there are no numeric distinctions put on the other resurrections mentioned in Scripture. Contrary to popular belief, there are more than 3 resurrections mentioned in Scripture.
A more accurate way to understand the different resurrections, is to look at the different kinds of resurrections there are as they relate to historic events and periods of judgments, as well as the different qualifiers that result in the kind of resurrection a person might receive.
This study will cover all the scriptures that address these topics. Before we continue, let’s define the words judge or judgment which is a complete study in itself. There are various words in Scripture used for the words judge or judgment. It can be as simple as discerning between right and wrong or good and evil. Every day we must make these choices or judgments.
During this study, we are concerned about judgment as it relates to periods of time where people are judged according to their works in which they will either earn the wages of sin which is eternal death in the Lake of Fire or the reward of Eternal Life as a resurrected Spirit Being.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the favorable gift of Elohim is everlasting life in Messiah Yahshua our Master.
FIRST RESURRECTION:
I Corinthians 15:51 See, I speak a secret to you: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.
I Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Mathew 24:31 And He shall send His messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
I Thessalonians 4:13 Now, brothers, we do not wish you to be ignorant concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you be sad as others who have no expectation.
1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Yahshua died and rose again, so also Elohim shall bring with Him those who sleep in Yahshua?
Footnote: An euphemism for death, a typical Hebrew word for it.
I Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Master, that we, the living who are left over at the coming of the Master shall in no way go before those who are asleep.
I Thessalonians 4:16 Because the Master Himself shall come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of a chief messenger, and with the trumpet of Elohim , and the dead in Messiah shall rise first.
I Thessalonians 4:17 Then we, the living who are left over, shall be caught away together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air – and so we shall always be with the Master.
These scriptures and others, all represent the same time period – at the last trump – at the return of Messiah. The First Fruits are judged during their converted lifetimes.
I Peter 4:17 Because it is time for judgment to begin from the House of Elohim . And if firstly from us, what is the end of those who do not obey the Good News of Elohim ?
I Peter 4:18 And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where shall the wicked and the sinner appear?
JUDGMENT PERIODS:
There seems to be 4 judgment periods. These judgment periods represent different types of resurrections.
This period represents the first resurrection of all those throughout the history of mankind who have been converted meaning they have received His Set-apart Spirit. This includes the kings, prophets, priests, and elders and a few others in the original Covenant. In the Renewed Covenant, it includes all those called and converted who did meet the requirements for Eternal Life.
Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Elohim dwells in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Messiah, this one is not His!
Romans 8:10 And if Messiah is in you, the body is truly dead-on account of sin, but the Spirit is life on account of righteousness.
Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Yahshua from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Messiah from the dead shall also give life to you your mortal bodies through His Spirit dwelling in you.
This period represents those who live on into or are born during the Millennium and the whole House of Israel covered in Ezekiel 37 which is a separate resurrection. Judgment period 2 overlaps the 3rd period where the resurrected First Fruits begin to rule, reign and judge with Yahshua.
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones – and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them – and the lives of those who had been beheaded because of the witness they bore to Yahshua and because of the word of Elohim , and who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive his mark upon their foreheads or upon their hands. And they lived and reigned with Messiah for a thousand years.
I Corinthians 6:1 Should any of you, holding a matter against another, go to be judged before the unrighteous, and not before the set apart ones?
I Corinthians 6:2 Do you not know that the set-apart ones shall judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
I Corinthians 6:3 Do you not know that we shall judge messengers? How much more, matters of this life?
This will apply to those who live on into the Millennium and are born during the Millennium. There is 1000-year reign of Messiah and the First Fruits during this period. Therefore, I have chosen to make it a separate judgment period.
Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of Elohim was upon me and took me out by the Spirit of Elohim , and set me down in the midst of the valley. And it was filled with bones.
Ezekiel 37:2 And He made me pass among them, all around, and see, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and see, they were very dry.
Ezekiel 37:3 And He said to me, “Son of man, would these bones live?” And I said, “O Master Elohim , you know.
Ezekiel 37:4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and you shall say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of Elohim !
Ezekiel 37:5 Thus said the Master Elohim to these bones, “See, I am bringing into you a spirit, and you shall live.
Ezekiel 37:6 And I shall put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, and cover you with skin and put a spirit in you, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am Elohim .
Ezekiel 37:7 And I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise, and there was a rattling. And the bones came together, bone to bone.
Ezekiel 37:8 And I looked and saw sinews and flesh came upon them, and skin covered them, but there was no spirit in them.
Ezekiel 37:9 He then said to me, “Prophesy to the spirit, prophesy, son of man, and you shall say to the spirit, “Thus said the Master” Elohim , “Come from the four winds, O spirit, and breathe on these slain, so that they live.
Ezekiel 37:10 And I prophesied as He commanded me, and the spirit came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, a very great army.
Ezekiel 37:11 And He said to me, Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. See, they say, Our bones are dry, our expectancy has perished, and we ourselves have been cut off!
Ezekiel 37:12 Therefore prophesy, and you shall say to them, thus said the Master Elohim , “See, O My people, I am opening your graves, and shall bring you up from your graves, and shall bring you into the land of Israel.
Ezekiel 37:13 And you shall know that I am Elohim , when I open your graves, O My people, and bring you up from your graves.
Ezekiel 37:14 And I shall put My Spirit (set-Apart Spirit) in you, and you shall live, and I shall settle you in your own land. And you shall know that I Elohim have spoken, and I have done it,” declares Elohim .
Ezekiel 37:15 And the word of Elohim came to me, saying,
Ezekiel 37:16 And you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.
Ezekiel 37:17 Then bring them together for yourself into one stick, and they shall become one in your hand.
Ezekiel 37:18 And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, Won’t you show us what you mean by these?
Ezekiel 37:19 Say to them, “Thus said the Master” Elohim, “See, I am taking the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions. And I shall give them unto him, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.
Ezekiel 37:20 And the sticks on which you write shall be in your hand before their eyes.
Ezekiel 37:21 And speak to them, ‘Thus said the Master Elohim , “See, I am taking the children of Israel from among the gentiles, wherever they have gone, and shall gather them from all around, and I shall bring them into their land.
Ezekiel 37:22 And I shall make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one sovereign shall be sovereign over them all, and let them no longer be two nations, and let them no longer be divided into two reigns.
Ezekiel 37:23 And they shall no longer defile themselves with their idols, nor with their disgusting matters, nor with any of their transgressions. And I shall save them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and I shall cleanse them. And they shall be My people, and I be their Elohim.
Ezekiel 37:24 While Daviḏ (a first fruit) My servant is sovereign over them. And they shall all have one shepherd and walk in My right-rulings and guard My laws, and shall do them.
Ezekiel 37:25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt. And they shall dwell in it, they and their children and their children’s children, forever, and My servant David be their prince forever.
Ezekiel 37:26 And I shall make a covenant of peace with them – an everlasting covenant it is with them. And I shall place them and increase them, and shall place My set-apart place in their midst, forever. (King James Version)
Ezekiel 37:27 And My Dwelling Place shall be over them. And I shall be their Elohim , and they shall be My people.
Ezekiel 37:28 And the gentiles shall know that I, Elohim , am setting Israel apart, when My set-apart place is in their midst – forever.
The following Scriptures in Isaiah 11 are in the same time period as Ezekiel 37.
Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, standing as a banner to the people. Unto Him the gentiles shall seek, and His rest shall be esteem.
Isaiah 11:11 And it shall be in that day that Elohim sets His hand again a second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Isaiah 11:12 And He shall raise a banner for the nations, and gather the outcasts of Israel, and assemble the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Isaiah 11:16 And there shall be a highway for the remnant of His people, those left from Assyria, as it was for Israel in the day when he came up from the land of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 5:29 Oh, that they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and to guard all My commands always, so that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
This next judgment period includes those mentioned in Revelation 20:5 – But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is a resurrection from death back to physical life. The rest of the dead are those who were never called to understand His Truth nor were converted meaning they never received His Spirit during their lifetimes.
This period also includes the rest of mankind who have never understood the gospel message.
This also includes people who have never heard the message, read the Scriptures or had any kind of true knowledge about Yahweh or His Word. This also includes infants and aborted babies. Many people say this is like a second chance. On the contrary – this is truly their first chance to understand and choose Yahweh’s Way of Truth or they can decide to reject it. We have all been given free moral agency and the same opportunity when the time of our calling comes. Yahweh does not change!
Hebrew 13:8 Yahshua Messiah is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Malachi 3:6 For I am from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea, I shall not change, and you, O sons of Jacob, shall not come to an end.
Mathew 13:10 And the taught ones came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?
Mathew 13:11 And He answering, said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, but to them it has not been given.
Mathew 13:12 For whoever possesses, to him more shall be given, and he shall have overflowingly; but whoever does not possess, even what he possesses shall be taken away from him.
Mathew 13:13 Because of this I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
Mathew 13:14 And in them the prophecy of Esaias completely filled, which says, ‘Hearing you shall hear and by no means understand, and seeing you shall see and by no means perceive,
Mathew 13:15 for the heart of this people has become thickened, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their heart, and turn back, and I heal them.
Yahweh judges everyone by the same standard, out of the same Book and according to our works. All are judged the same way.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged from what was written in the books, according to their works. Those who were not called and could not understand could be forgiven or Yahshua would not have asked the father to forgive them.
Luke 23:34 And Yahshua said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.
Paul said what was done, was done in ignorance.
Acts 3:17 And now, brothers, I know that you did it in ignorance, as your rulers did too.
Acts 3:18 But this is how Elohim has filled what He had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that His Messiah was to suffer.
Torah is the ultimate standard of judgment and justice. It says a person must know what they are doing.
John 7:51 Does our Torah judge the man unless it hears first from him and knows what he is doing?” The Scripture translation is not very clear here.
John 7:51 Is a man judged by our law before it has given him a hearing and has knowledge of what he has done? Bible in Basic English translation is a little clearer.
A person might be punished for breaking Torah, but for them to receive Eternal Judgment, they must break it willfully and with the understanding of a converted mind, having the Set-apart Spirit. They must reach the level of the Unpardonable Sin, where they willfully reject the Word and REFUSE TO REPENT.
Blaspheming The Set-apart Spirit:
Mark 3:29 but he who blasphemes against the Set-apart Spirit has no forgiveness forever, but is subject to everlasting judgment.
Hebrew 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Set-apart Spirit,
Hebrew 6:5 and have tasted the good Word of Elohim and the powers of the age to come,
Hebrew 6:6 and fall away, to renew them again to repentance – having impaled for themselves the son of Elohim again, and put Him to open shame.
Hebrew 10:26 For if we sin purposely after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a slaughter offering for sins.
These verses must be balanced by:
I John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Yahshua Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin.
I John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are misleading ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.
Yahweh judges the intent of the heart, the seared conscience, the hardened and bitter heart and rebellion. Weakness is a different thing.
Mathew 26:41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into trial. The spirit indeed is eager, but the flesh is weak.
The fourth judgment period or the White Throne Judgment has to do with Eternal life or Eternal death.
Due to the differences in Revelation 20:4 and Revelation 20:11-12, I need to make distinction between the kind of judging done in Periods 3 and 4.
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones – and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them – and the lives those who had been beheaded because of the witness they bore to Yahshua and because of the Word of Elohim , and who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive his mark upon their foreheads or upon their hands. And they lived and reigned with Messiah for a thousand years
This scripture makes no mention of eternal judgment. The words “thrones” and “them” which are plural are used in contrast to Revelation 20:11-15 where throne and Him are used and are singular and clearly talking about Eternal Judgment – life or death for those involved. In these verses the word used for “judged” is #2919 which means primarily condemnation and final judgment or the determination of a person’s ultimate fate.
John 5:22 Shows that the final verdict belongs to Yahshua and this explains why there is only one throne in the 4th Judgment Period.
John 5:22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all the judgment to the son,
The above verses show the kind of judging that is done only by Yahshua during the White Throne Judgment Period. The following talks about the kind of judging that the first fruits will do with Yahshua during the Millennium and after Millennium when the rest of the dead live again.
The word “judge” used during the thousand-year period and Judgment Period 3 is #2915 which can mean condemnation, but can also mean a sentence or punishment more like the way the Judges in Ancient Israel might administer justice in civil and legal disputes among people.
Exodus 18:21 But you yourself, seek out from all the people able men, who fear Elohim , men of truth, hating unfair gain. And place these over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and judges of tens.
Exodus 18:22 And they shall rightly rule the people at all times. And it shall be that they bring every great matter to you, but they themselves rightly rule every small matter. So, make it lighter for yourself, for they shall bear with you.
Exodus 22:9 For every matter of transgression, for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for garment, or for whatever is lost which another claims to be his, let the matter of them both come before Elohim . And whomever Elohim declares wrong repays double to his neighbor.
Leviticus 19:15 Do no unrighteousness in right-ruling judgment Do not be partial to the poor or favor the face of the great, but rightly rule your neighbor in righteousness. (King James Version).

The above scriptures show we will be ruling and reigning with Him as rulers/kings administering Torah. The parable of the talents shows we will be helping Yahshua to rule over cities and nations.
Luke 19:12 He therefore said, “A certain nobleman went to a distant country to receive for himself a reign and to return.
Luke 19:13 And calling ten of his servants, He gave them ten minas/talents, and said to them, Trade until I come.
Luke 19:14 But his subjects were hating him, and sent a delegation after him, to say, “We do not wish this one to reign over us”.
Luke 19:15 And it came to be, when he came back, having received the reign, that he sent for these servants to whom he had given the silver, in order to know what each had gained by trading.
Luke 19:16 And the first came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas’.
Luke 19:17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant’. Because you were trustworthy in a small matter, have authority over ten cities.’
Luke 19:18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’
Luke 19:19 And he said to him also, ‘And you – be over five cities.’
The following scriptures show we will be helping Yahshua to rule over cities and nations.
Revelation 2:26 And he who overcomes, and guards My works until the end, to him I shall give authority over the nations,
We have now covered the 4 Judgment Periods which show four kinds of resurrections occurring at different times or during different judgment periods. They are as follows:
From death to physical life happens 7 times in Scripture:
I Kings 17:21 And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to Elohim and said, “O Elohim my Elohim , I pray, let the life of this child come back to him.”
I Kings 17:22 And Elohim heard the voice of Elijah, and the life of the child came back to him, and he lived.
Ezekiel 37 – See pages 4 and 5.
John 11:41 So they took away the stone where the dead man was laid. And Yahshua lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
John 11:42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the crowd standing by I said this, in order that they believe that You sent Me.
John 11:43 And when He had said this, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!
John 11:44 And he who died came out bound feet and hands with wrappings, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Yahshua said to them, “Loosen him and let him go.
Acts 9:36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did.
Acts 9:37 And it came to be in those days that she became sick and died. And having washed her, they laid her in an upper room.
Acts 9:40 But Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up.
Acts 20:9 And a certain young man, by name Eutychus, was sitting in a window, being overpowered by a deep sleep. As Paul kept on reasoning, he was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third story, and was picked up dead.
Acts 20:10 And Paul, having gone down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not be upset, for his life is in him.
Acts 20:12 And they brought the young man in alive, and were encouraged, not a little.
Mathew 27:51 And see, the veil of the Dwelling Place was torn in two from top to bottom, and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split,
Mathew 27:52 and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the set-apart ones who had fallen asleep were raised,
Mathew 27:53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the set-apart city and appeared to many.
After the Millennium Resurrection: Revelation 20:5 (and the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended)
From death to Eternal Life happens 3 times:
The Messiah – I Corinthians 15:20 But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, and has become the first-fruit of those having fallen asleep.
The first fruits – I Corinthians 15:23 And each in his own order: Messiah the first-fruit, then those who are of Messiah at His coming,
The rest of the dead during the White Throne Judgment period –
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne and Him who was sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged from what was written in the books, according to their works.
Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and the grave gave up the dead who were in them? And they were judged, each one according to his works.
Revelation 20:14 And the death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Revelation 20:15 And if anyone was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
From death to Eternal Death (the lake of fire) – this happens once.

Ezekiel 28:18 You profaned your set-apart places by your many crookedness’s, by the unrighteousness of your trading. Therefore, I brought forth fire from your midst. It has devoured you and I turned you to ashes upon the earth before the eyes of all who see you.
Ezekiel 28:19 All who knew you among the peoples were astonished at you. Waste you shall be and cease to be forever.
Malachi 4:1 For look, the day shall come, burning like a furnace, and all the proud, and every wrongdoer shall be stubble. And the day that shall come shall burn them up,” said Elohim of hosts, “which leaves to them neither root nor branch.
Malachi 4:2 But to you who fear My Name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. And you shall go out and leap for joy like calves from the stall.
Malachi 4:3 And you shall trample the wrongdoers, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” said Elohim of hosts.
This dispels the false doctrine of an “ever-burning hell fire.”
Mathew 25:41 He shall then also say to those on the left hand, ‘Go away from Me’ accursed ones, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his messengers.
The actual number of resurrections found in Scripture is 11, however, in summary, they all fall into only two types, Eternal Life or Eternal Death, however, this only applies after all of the Judgment Periods are complete and after everyone has been judged by the same standard.
John 5:28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the tombs shall hear His voice,
John 5:29 and shall come forth – those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have practiced evil matters, to a resurrection of judgment.
Acts 24:14 And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,
Acts 24:15 Having an expectation in Elohim, which they themselves also wait for, that there is to be a resurrection of the dead, both of the righteous and the unrighteous.
Acts 24:16 And in this I exercise myself to have a clear conscience toward Elohim and men always.
QUALIFIERS We Must Meet to Obtain Eternal Life or Eternal Death
Eternal Death:
Unrepentant Sin

After we have grown and overcome and have His Mind and Character, we still fall short. Grace/favor will then make up the difference.
Works alone cannot save us, but without works, we can disqualify ourselves from the blessing of inheriting Eternal Life. Please notice the servant without works disqualified himself.
Mathew 25:29 For to everyone who possesses, more shall be given, and he shall have overflowingly; but from him who does not possess, even what he possesses shall be taken away.
Mathew 25:30 And throw the worthless servant out into the outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also the belief is dead without the works.
Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and the grave gave up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works, (works of the flesh and works of righteousness.)
Because we are judged according to our works, it is impossible to have works unless a person is alive. Judgment can only take place during one’s lifetime so aborted babies, babies and children who die during their lifetimes will be resurrected at the end of the millennium.
Revelation 20:5 and the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.

IS THERE A HELL?
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
We will have the fellowship of the Spirit and the renewal of the Word. I have missed you all very much, yet my prayers for you all have kept you close to me.
REVIEW AND OVERVIEW OF THE PAST TWO LESSONS:
As is stated in Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
There is a well-established system of false, pagan religious beliefs that the majority of mankind accepts as truth. All governments are themselves, a false religion. Most of our educational system especially in the areas of science, health, history, and origins are all based upon evolution, which denies the true reason for our existence – that of becoming a Spirit Being in the Family of Yahweh, and the true Creator.
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Deity; so that they are without excuse.
Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of Yahweh into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain Yahweh in their knowledge, Yahweh gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Unless we are blessed enough to have our minds open to the truth, we cannot escape deception!
Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto Yahweh, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Mankind is living a lie. Everything is phony and counterfeit, even our food, money, the world’s religions, patriotism, our freedoms, etc.
So why is all this and the subject of Replacement Theology so important? It is important because this knowledge of the truth is Salvational for all of us. It completely encompasses our entire relationship with our Creator and gives us our very purpose for being. We must purge our lives of all the false pagan beliefs and methods of worship in order to keep our Sanctification with him.
It is so very important to Yahweh that we worship Him the way He commands us too. Our Covenant Relationship with Him is a legal contract. His commandments are not the 10 suggestions. Set Apart Days and Sabbaths are commanded assemblies.
They protect our relationship with Him and keep us in Covenant Relationship with Him. These things are Salvational. It is what sets us apart from the rest of the world.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Strong’s #G37 hagiazō hag-ee-ad’-zo
From G40; to make Set Apart, that is, (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate: – hallow, be Set Apart, sanctify. This cannot be accomplished without someone separating himself or withdrawing from fellowship with the world. It means to withdraw from fellowship with the world by first gaining fellowship with Yahweh.
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
I Peter 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
I Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you to be Set Apart, so be ye Set Apart in all manner of conversation;
I Peter 1:16 Because it is written, be ye set Apart; for I am Set Apart.
I John 5:20 And we know that the Son of Yahweh is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Yahshua Messiah. This is the true Elohim and eternal life.
I John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
There are hundreds of Scriptures that tell us to seek and hold to the truth and reject false and pagan ideas and methods of worship. This is a life-long pursuit of learning, growing and putting sin out of our lives.
In the first lesson of Replacement Theology, we learned a simple definition. Replacement Theology is “any false doctrine or teaching that replaces a true one.” In the first two lessons, we studied some of these false replacement doctrines:
- The use of the word “church.” The word church is pagan in origin. There is no such word found in scripture. Both the original Hebrew and Greek refer to those in Covenant Relationship with Yahweh as a “congregation” or an “assembly.”
- The Jews are not the chosen people. The chosen people are the whole house of Israel containing all 12 tribes. They have been called to be in Covenant relationship with the Gentiles grafted in later. This is very important to know so we can understand our true identity with Yahweh.
- Where is heaven and is heaven the reward of the saved. We explained what and where heaven is. It is not the reward of the saved. Rulership on earth in the Kingdom of Yahweh is. This is so important because if people don’t really know where they are going, they won’t know what path to take to get there. They also will not know how to prepare themselves for rulership and marriage with Yahshua.
We also proved that there are no men in heaven waiting to start the Millennial Kingdom, but those who are dead are asleep in Messiah and the rest of us wait for the Resurrection.
IS THERE A HELL?
Where is it? What is it? Is there an ever-burning hell where sinners are tormented for all eternity?
This is a subject where Replacement Theology introduced by the pagan writers and the Catholic Church have concocted a fear religion and it is one of the worst corruptions of all. They changed the self-defining scriptural definition to fit their own doctrine to hold people in fear and captivity.
Some of the followings are excerpts from a reprint article from Herbert W. Armstrong entitled “Is There a Hell?”
COMMON IDEA OF HELL:
First, what is the generally accepted common belief in our Western world about hell? Here’s the terse and brief summation of this popular belief, which is quoted from the Encyclopedia Americana:
“… As generally understood, hell is the abode of evil spirits; the infernal regions . . . whither lost and condemned souls go after death to suffer indescribable torments and eternal punish . . . Some have thought of it as the place created by the Deity, where He punishes with inconceivable severity, and through all eternity, the souls of those who through unbelief or through the worship of false gods have angered Him. It is the place of divine revenge, unhampered, never ending.”
Now where, and how, did this popular belief about hell originate?
The Encyclopedia Americana states further: “The main features of hell as conceived by Hindu, Persian, Egyptian, Grecian and Christian theologians are essentially the same. The Western religious leaders from Roman times through the Middle Ages borrowed the doctrine of eternal torture from the pagan philosophers. Certain writers of the Middle Ages had such tremendous influence on the Christian-professing world, that their writings and teachings came to be generally accepted and believed, until it became the doctrine of the Christian-professing world. Among these influential writers were Augustine and Dante Alighieri.
What About the Millions of Heathens?
In spite of missionaries from the West, actually more than half of all the people on this earth have never so much as HEARD the ONLY name by which men may be SAVED – the name of Yahshua Messiah! Now is there some other way by which men may be saved? The Bible says there is NOT!
Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
That means that thousands of millions of people on this earth have lived, and DIED, without ever having known anything about Divine salvation – without SAVING KNOWLEDGE – never having heard the ONLY name by which men may be saved! Now think what that means! IF all unsaved go immediately to hell at death – the hell commonly believed in – then more than HALF of the people who have lived on this earth have been consigned there – and they are there, now, without ever having been given so much as a CHANCE to escape it!
Ask yourself candidly, do you believe THAT is the plan by which an all – wise, all – merciful, loving Elohim is working out his purpose here below?
Now what is the TRUTH?
I Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of Yahshua our Saviour;
I Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
This is Yahweh’s will, that all men come to the knowledge of the truth. If that time is now, then the Almighty Yahweh has failed – but that time is not now. There are yet future judgment periods where the rest of mankind who have never had any bible knowledge or knowledge about our Savior and Messiah will have their first chance to receive salvation. The plan of salvation is for all of mankind.
Hell, Fire in the Bible
Yahshua said in a passage very often quoted: “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of Yahweh with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt” (Mark 9:47-49).
Now exactly what is this hell fire? This word hell is an English word. Mark wrote, originally, in the Greek language. The word originally inspired, which Mark actually wrote, was the Greek word Gehenna, which certainly does refer to FIRE.
But in most passages in the New Testament where the English word hell is found in our English translations, the original Greek word was a different word, Hades-which does NOT refer to FIRE at all, but has an altogether different meaning.
Incorrectly Translated “Hell”
Remember we merely read a translation of the Bible from its original languages. A leading Bible dictionary, called A Dictionary of the Bible, edited by James Hastings, says this:
“In our Authorized Version the word ‘hell’ is unfortunately used as the rendering of three distinct words, with different meanings. It represents, (1) the ‘Sheol‘ of the Hebrew Old Testament, and the ‘Hades’ of …the New Testament… It is now an entirely misleading rendering. especially in the New Testament passages. The English revisers, therefore, have substituted the original Greek word ‘Hades’ for ‘hell‘ in the New Testament. In the American revision the word ‘hell‘is entirely discarded in this connection. . .. The word ‘hell‘ is translated (2) as the equivalent of the Greek word tartaros, (II Peter 2:4; compare with Jude 6), and, (3) as the equivalent of the Greek word ‘Gehenna.'”
Hell is an old English word, and 370 years ago, when the Authorized Version was translated, the people of England commonly talked about putting their potatoes in HELL for the winter – a good way of preserving potatoes – for the word then meant merely a hole in the ground that was covered up – a dark and silent place – a GRAVE.
And now the Greek word Gehenna. I quote from Hastings:
“Gehenna: the word occurs twelve times in the New Testament. This term ‘Gehenna’ represents ‘the Valley of Hinnom’ (Nehemiah 11:30, 2 Kings 23:10, etc.). The place was . . . a deep narrow gorge in the vicinity of Jerusalem, understood to be on the south side.
It is repeatedly mentioned in the Old Testament (Jeremiah 19:6, etc.). It became an object of horror to the Jews, and is said to have been made the receptacle for bones, the bodies of beasts and criminals, refuse and all unclean things. The terrible associations of the place . . . the fires said to have been kept burning in it in order to consume the foul and corrupt objects that were thrown into it, made it a natural and unmistakable symbol of dire evil, . . . ABSOLUTE RUIN. So, it came to designate the place of future punishment.”
Hell – A Place of Destruction
Gehenna was a place of DESTRUCTION and DEATH – not a place of living torture! Yahshua was talking to Jews who understood all about this Gehenna or Valley of Hinnom. Utter DESTRUCTION by fire was complete. NOTHING was left, but ashes!
Every text in the Bible translated from this Greek word Gehenna means complete destruction – not living torture – NOT eternal LIFE in torment! THE BIBLE says, in Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is DEATH” – not ETERNAL LIFE in torture. The PUNISHMENT revealed in the BIBLE is DEATH – the cessation of life. Eternal life is the GIFT of Yahweh!
Then WHY have we been believing that PUNISHMENT is ETERNAL LIFE in fire? And WHY have we been believing we already have eternal life and don’t NEED to come to Yahweh through Yahshua to receive it as HIS GIFT?
The PUNISHMENT is DEATH. It is the second death, from which there shall be no resurrection! The PUNISHMENT is for ETERNITY – DEATH for eternity – ETERNAL punishment – but NO where does THE BIBLE say anything about the PAGAN teaching of eternal punishing. It’s eternal punishment, not eternal punishing!
When Yahshua spoke of being cast into “Gehenna FIRE,” he was using this expression as an illustration of the LAKE OF FIRE, which THE BIBLE reveals is to be THE PLACE of this final punishment – this second DEATH.
He referred to Revelation 20:14: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” THAT fire will be much hotter than Dante’s imaginary HELL!
What Happens to “Hell“?
Do people go at DEATH to the fictitious hell of Dante’s imagination to be TORTURED by flames of fire forever – and then are they to be brought OUT, to go into a JUDGMENT, to see if Yahweh had made a mistake in having punished them so long in this “hell“?
Notice Revelation 20:13-15: “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book or life was cast into the lake of fire.” The LAKE OF FIRE which Yahshua referred to is a place of DEATH, not of eternal life – the SECOND DEATH – ETERNAL punishment!
Notice what Yahshua said in Matthew 10:28: “. . . fear him which is able to DESTROY both soul and body in [GEHENNA].” Here in plain language Yahshua said the SOUL could be destroyed – and that it would be DESTROYED in the GEHENNA that has been falsely translated by the English word hell! Gehenna is a place of DESTRUCTION!
Again, Yahshua used this word Gehenna as quoted in Matthew 23:33: “Ye serpents,” he said to the Pharisees, ” . . . how can ye escape the damnation of [GEHENNA]?” – the second DEATH – eternal PUNISHMENT!
The ancient rebellious cities Sodom and Gomorrah suffered, as we read in Jude 7, the vengeance of ETERNAL FIRE. But they are not still burning. They were burned up FOREVER – eternal DESTRUCTION!
Now what happens in this “hell” – derived from the Greek word Gehenna? Let the Set Apart Word of Yahweh answer: “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up saith Yahweh Elohim, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Messiah of hosts” (Malachi 4:1-3).
Yahweh Is Love – and Justice!
Yahweh is an Elohim of LOVE – or MERCY, as well as an Elohim of ABSOLUTE JUSTICE! If he were the vain, angry, unjust god pictured by the pagans who invented this popular conception of heaven and hell, then, according to the common belief of the illustration of Lazarus and the Rich Man, saved mothers up in heaven are hearing the shrieks, seeing the indescribable AGONY, writhing, of their own lost children down in hell – actually able to carry on a conversation with them – yet UNABLE to help them. Would THAT be the heavenly BLISS it is generally represented? Psalm 37 OUGHT to make plain to us this matter of heaven and hell. Notice! “For evildoers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon Yahweh, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be; yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnashed upon him with his teeth. But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of Yahweh shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off! The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever” (Psalm 37:9-12, 20, 22, 29).
And notice Psalm 104:35: “Let the sinners he consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more.
And now, Isaiah 66:24: “And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.”
Never to Be Quenched?
“Neither shall their fire be QUENCHED.” Does that mean burning forever and never burning up? Try this test: Put a piece of paper in a pan. Light it with a match. Now, don’t QUENCH that fire! Don’t put it out – for that’s what “quench” means. Very soon the paper will burn up. Then put it down on the floor and step on it! Now it’s merely ashes under the sole of your feet – precisely as THE BIBLE plainly says the wicked shall be!
In Jeremiah 17:27, Yahweh warned the Jews that Jerusalem would be burned, and the fire would not be quenched – unless they repented. In
Jeremiah 52:13, you read the account of the burning of Jerusalem. That fire was NOT QUENCHED! It is NOT still burning! Do you know that THE BIBLE teaches the resurrection of all who die? The apostle Paul said his HOPE was the hope of the RESURRECTION! As the resurrection is true doctrine, then the pagan myth of an eternal TORTURE, beginning at death, is as deceptive as Satan himself! If all Unsaved – even all who never heard the ONLY name Yahshua Messiah – are roasting, screaming, in such a hell, and can never get out, HOW can there be a RESURRECTION? Thank Yahweh! – there is to be a resurrection to JUDGMENT, as well as a resurrection to eternal life of the dead IN Messiah! Yes, thank Yahweh, he so LOVED the world – we NEED not perish, but through Yahshua we may have EVERLASTING LIFE!
The lake of fire is an act of mercy.
Ezekiel 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith Yahweh Elohim : wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Those who develop the Mind of Messiah, i.e., Yahweh’s character which is that of serving, loving and giving selflessly to others. It will come naturally and be a delight for all eternity in the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father.
Those who have willfully rejected Yahweh and His way of life would be miserable in the Kingdom. So, Yahweh in His great mercy will quickly burn up the wicked to save them from a life of eternal misery in the Kingdom. Next time we will cover more on Replacement Theology.
Luke 20:34 And Yahshua answering said unto them, the children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
Luke 20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
Luke 20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of Yahweh being the children of the resurrection.
Human beings who do not qualify to be given Eternal Life, will mercifully just be burned up in the Lake of fire. Spirit beings who cannot die will remain in the Lake of fire.
Mathew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Mathew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
We have this wonderful opportunity to help the rest of mankind receive Salvation. So let us remain faithful to our great calling and continue to put out false doctrines out of our lives

WHAT AND WHERE IS HEAVEN?
ARE “THE SAVED” IN HEAVEN?
WHAT AND WHERE IS THE KINGDOM?
STATE OF THE DEAD: IS THERE AN EVER-BURNING HELL AND WILL WE BE SPIRIT OR PHYSICAL?
As we begin our second lesson on Replacement Theology, we all need to realize that this whole world has been deceived by Satan. What does that mean to us personally? It is one thing to be told a lie, and an entirely different thing to live a lie, especially if our eyes have been opened to the truth. Those who reject truth and the author of truth will find themselves in danger of the judgment.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
We should all be very grateful for the truth and be diligently trying to be obedient to it. One of the great lies of Replacement Theology is we only need grace to save us, yet if we don’t strive to keep the law the best we can, Paul says we will not enter the Kingdom of Yahweh.
Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Galatians 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Galatians 5:21 Envying’s, murders, drunkenness, raveling’s, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of Yahweh.
As I listen to people talk about what they believe, it is obvious they have never really studied very hard for themselves, but are all too willing to believe what other people tell them is the truth.
Five years ago, after I left the “corporate church”, I decided to start all over again with a series of bible studies that I have been sharing with all of you. I have tried to make these studies void of past “church culture” and influence and just stick with what scripture says on any given subject. This has been a great blessing for Vicki and myself. It has proven to be a great refinement, much like bringing a telescope into a better focus. The clearer our spiritual sightedness is, the better equipped we are to deal with the even greater deceptions that lie just ahead.
There seems to be a lot of confusion even among Torah, Sabbath, Set Apart Day Keepers about what is the State of the Dead and the reward of the saved. In this lesson we will cover the following:
- What is Heaven?
- Where is Heaven?
- Are the Saved in Heaven?
- What is the Kingdom of Yahweh?
- Where is the Kingdom of Yahweh?
- What is the State of the Dead?
- Where Are the Dead?
- Is there an Ever-Burning Hell?
- Will we be Spirit or Physical in the Kingdom?
Before we begin, let’s review the basic rules of Bible Study. The Scriptures interprets Scripture. One Scripture does not make a doctrine. It is the preponderance of clear, easy to understand scriptures that we should rely on for doctrines. The hard-to-understand scriptures can be misleading or poorly translated. Some scriptures have been added or changed to fit Catholic or Protestant doctrines. It is not hard to search these out in the historic record.
We will begin by defining these basic topics and then go to the verses using them to better understand their meanings.
Heaven represents a very real place, but does that mean that it is the reward of the saved?
Strong’s #8064 samayim – heavens, heaven, sky. Old Covenant Definition.
First, samayim is the usual Hebrew word for the “sky” and the realm of the sky.” This realm is where birds fly.
Deuteronomy 4:17 …the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, Absalom’s hair was caught in the branches of a tree,
II Samuel 18:9 …and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.
I Chronicles 21:16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of Yahweh stand between the earth and the heaven,
Second, samayim – this word represents an area farther removed from the earth’s surface. From this area comes such things as frost. Job 38:29 Out of whose womb came the ice? and of the hoary frost heaven, who hath gendered it. Snow –
Isaiah 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: Hail –
Joshua 10:11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that Yahweh cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
Third, samayim – also represents the realm in which the sun, moon, and stars are located:
Genesis 1:14 And Yahweh said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Fourth, samayim – the phrase heaven and earth may denote the entire creation.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning Yahweh created the heaven and the earth.
Fifth, samayim – heaven is the dwelling place of Yahweh.
Psalm 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Messiah shall have them in derision.
Deuteronomy 4:39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that Yahweh he is Elohim in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath:
there is none else. Another expression representing the dwelling place of Yahweh is the highest heaven (literally the heaven of heavens). This does not indicate height, but an absolute – i.e. His abode is a unique realm not to be identified with the physical creation:
Deuteronomy 10:14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Yahweh’s thy Elohim , the earth also, with all that therein is.
Please note that in this long definition, there is no mention of any humans in heaven or heaven being the reward of the saved.
A brief summary of this long definition is heaven represents 5 different locations:
1.Where the birds fly.
2. The firmament just above the first heaven.
3. The realm of space where the planets and stars exist.
4. The general expression for heaven and earth.
5. The dwelling place of Yahweh and His throne.
New Covenant definition: Strong’s #3772 – Ouranos – heaven, sky, air, means the all-embracing heaven beneath which is the earth and all that is therein. Where the fowl of the air fly, clouds are suspended, the rain is formed, the sun moon and stars are placed.
The residence of Elohim is called “the holy heavens” where the angels are (Mark 13:27), from whence Yahshua descended – where after His resurrection He sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high, and appears in the presence of Yahweh on our behalf.
The heavens are used for Yahweh in the Old Covenant. and in the same sense in the New Covenant. It is a syn. Of the Kingdom of Yahweh.
(Wresting the scriptures again) (II Corinthians 12:2) Paul was ruptured to the third heaven and returned. This is called Paradise
II Corinthians 12:4) which is applied to the state of the faithful souls between death and the resurrection where they are admitted to immediate communion with YAH in Messiah, and to a partaking of the true Tree of Life which is in the midst of the paradise of Yahweh (Luke 22:43 and Revelation 2:7).
(More wresting) There is a final heaven which Hebrews 11:16 refers to as a better or heavenly country, in Hebrews 13:14 as a continuing city; and in Revelation 21:2 the Set Apart city, new Jerusalem. It is the place where the believers are going to receive their inheritance which is incorruptible –
I Peter 1:3-5, Matthew 6:19-21, I Corinthians 2:9, Colossians 3:2 and Revelation 21:1-5.
Strong’s #3770 – ouranios- heavenly host of angles, a heavenly vision and celestial and heavenly. Luke 2:13
Strong’s #2032 – epouranios – heavenly or celestial, what pertains to or is in heaven, the heavenly One. The meaning of this word is determined according to the various meanings of heaven, celestial bodies, the heavenlies, in heaven, the lower heavens, the sky or air. The Kingdom of Heaven. Things pertaining to the Kingdom of Yahweh.
Strong’s #3771 – ouranothen – heaven then add the suffix meaning from a place, from heaven.
Again, in this long definition, there is not clear reference that heaven is the reward of the saved and that we will be spending eternity with Yahweh in heaven. There are some verses that have been wrested to represent mainstream Protestant theology beliefs. This is called “proof-texting” or Replacement Theology. Let’s look at these few verses that are wrested and taken out of context to fit mainstream Protestant theology.
II Corinthians 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of Yahshua.
II Corinthians 12:2 I knew a man in Messiah above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: Yahweh knoweth;) such a one caught up to the third heaven.
II Corinthians 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: Yahweh knoweth;)
II Corinthians 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
The context of these verses is a vision or revelation – not a literal resurrection to eternal life in heaven.
I Thessalonians 4:16 For Yahshua himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of Yahweh: and the dead in Yahshua shall rise first:
I Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet Yahshua in the air: and so, shall we ever be with Yahshua.
These verses do not describe a rapture. They describe a resurrection (the first resurrection). The word rapture is not found in scripture. Verse 17 states we shall ever be with Yahshua. That is true, but where is Yahshua going to be and where are the resurrected saints going to be?
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yahshua, and for the word of Yahweh, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Messiah a thousand years.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and set apart is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of Yahweh and of Messiah and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our Elohim kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Revelation 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Revelation 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
Psalm 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon Yahweh, they shall inherit the earth.
Psalm 37:10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
Psalm 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
These verses make it pretty clear that the destiny or reward of the “saved” is not a location called heaven, but rather a Kingdom located on earth.
Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven; from where the Saviour for whom we are waiting will come, even the Master Yahshua Messiah:
Philippians 3:21 By whom this poor body of ours will be changed into the image of the body of his glory, in the measure of the working by which he is able to put all things under himself.
Philippians 3:20 is used to say that our citizenship is in heaven and that is where we will be going. We are told to come out of the world that we are to be in it but not of it.
John 17:14 I have given your word to them; and they are hated by the world, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John 17:15 My prayer is not that you will take them out of the world, but that you will keep them from the Evil One.
John 17:16 They are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
As expats, our citizenship is in the U.S. We are subject to the laws of the U.S. yet we do not reside there. Likewise, we are subject to the laws of His Government, yet we do not reside in heaven.
Mathew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
This shows that we are under the law and authority of Heaven, yet we live on earth.
Who is in heaven?
Revelation 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Yahweh our Elohim .
This is another poor translation. There are no people in heaven. The original Greek says multitude. This multitude is described in Heaven as:
Revelation 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their head’s crowns of gold.
Revelation 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thundering’s and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of Yahweh.
Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
Revelation 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Set Apart, Set Apart, Set Apart, Master Yahweh Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
Revelation 4:9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to Him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
Acts 7:55 But being full of the Holy Spirit, looking intently into the heaven, he saw the glory of Yahweh, and Yahshua standing at the right of Yahweh.
Acts 7:56 And he said, Behold, I see the heavens having been opened, and the Son of man standing at the right of Yahweh!
Mathew 18:10 See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven continually look on the face of My Father in Heaven.
There are many verses that talk about the multitude of angels that are in heaven. None of those verses ever say there are people in heaven, but just the opposite.
John 3:13 And no one has gone up into Heaven, except He having come down out of Heaven, the Son of Man who is in Heaven.
Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day.
Acts 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that Yahweh had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Yahshua to sit on his throne;
Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Yahshua, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
The word “hell” here needs to be covered as a separate topic. The point is David is not in heaven – who was a man after Yahweh’s own heart!
The saved are not in Heaven. So, if the saved are not in heaven, where are they and what is their reward and where is their reward? The saved, like the sinners, are asleep until the resurrection – just as Yahshua was resurrected.
I Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
I Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Yahshua died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Yahshua will Elohim bring with him.
I Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of Yahweh, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of Yahshua not prevent them which are asleep.
I Corinthians 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Sleep – Strong’s #2837 means dead.
John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
John 11:12 Then said his disciples, Master, if he sleeps, he shall do well.
John 11:13 Howbeit Yahshua spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
John 11:14 Then said Yahshua unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
They know nothing while they are dead until they are awoken at the resurrection.
The reward of the saved is Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Yahweh. This is the true message that Yahshua taught – not going to heaven. We have already covered Revelation.20:4,6 Revelation 2:25-27, Revelation 5:10, Psalm 37:11 all showing the saints will rule and rein with Yahshua on the earth for 1000 years.
So, let’s look at a few more scriptures talking about our reward and millennial rule. When Yahshua returns to the earth, it is to rule over the nations of the earth as King of Kings!
Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of Yahweh, and of His Messiah; and he shall reign forever and ever.
Micah 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Yahweh shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
Micah 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, and to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.
Micah 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Micah 4:4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of Yahweh of hosts hath spoken it.
Micah 4:5 For all people will walk everyone in the name of his Elohim , and we will walk in the name of Yahweh our Elohim forever and ever.
Micah 4:6 In that day, saith Yahweh, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;
Micah 4:7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and Yahshua shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even forever.
Zechariah 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zechariah 14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
Zechariah 14:9 And Yahweh shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Master, and his name one.
Zechariah 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zechariah 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Zechariah 14:18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith Yahweh will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zechariah 14:19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
There are many prophetic millennial scriptures that plainly show Yahshua is going to rule on the earth with the saints and that the whole world will be keeping the Sabbath and the Holy Days.

REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY LESSON 1
The actual words Replacement Theology cannot be found in Scripture; however, the process or principle of Replacement Theology is found everywhere in Scripture and secular history. Replacement Theology is any doctrine or teaching that is practiced by mainstream religions that is not found in Scripture or can be proven by Scripture. Satan is the god of this world and has deceived the whole world.
II Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Yahshua, who is the image of Yahweh, should shine unto them.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
His rebellion begins in Isaiah 14:12-14.
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Yahweh, I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north.
Isaiah 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. 
He wants to replace Yahweh and have his throne ascend above Yahweh throne. In order to accomplish this, he must replace Yahweh truths with his deceptions. This deceptive, counterfeit knowledge, permeates every part of man’s culture, science, education, religion, government and finances. This false knowledge is everywhere and in everything where mankind derives any kind of knowledge or understanding of his entire existence and true purpose of life. He has made sure it is either entirely false or a mixture of truth and error twisted and woven together as to confuse mankind in every area that affects their lives and the raising of the succeeding generations.
Satan rules the darkness and in order to get most people to accept that darkness, he must change it to light.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
II Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Yahshua.
II Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
II Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
A large part of this process of changing darkness to light and light to darkness is accomplished by changing the meaning of words and names as in Yahweh to “god “and “Lord “which are names of pagan origins. Other examples include the changing of Assembly and Congregations to “church” a name not found in the Scripture and is also of pagan origin. This application extends into every facet of human existence, not just religion.
I have actually taught on Replacement Theology before as an individual topic as in changing the Sabbath to Sunday. Until I spoke with my son, Jay the other day, I never saw it as a total, comprehensive concept or overview. When we do this, it is quite powerful and more persuasive to really understand the big picture. That is what this series will be about – looking at Replacement Theology as a whole rather than isolated topics.
I cannot go to Strong’s Concordance to supply us with a definition of Replacement Theology – so here is my simple definition: “Any false doctrine or teaching that replaces a true one.”
PERSONAL COMMENTS ON DEFINITION
Paul warned the Corinthian assembly about Replacement Theology which was already beginning to infiltrate the 1st Century body of believers with a replacement gospel message and a replacement Messiah, etc.
II Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Yahshua, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
This bible study is an overview or summary of the many, many false doctrines that have replaced the basic truths of the bible. The bible is very plain about adding to or taking away.
Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of Yahweh your Elohim which I command you.
Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, Yahweh shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Replacement Theology completely ignores this simple bible command. Languages and names are very important to Yahweh. He always calls things what they are. His name is very important to Him as so many of the other names/words everyone uses represent pagan gods.
In the Kingdom, we will be given a new name and a new, pure language that has not been corrupted by Replacement Theology nor Satan’s ministers wresting the scriptures.
Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna and will give him a white stone and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Zephaniah 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of Yahweh, to serve him with one consent.
We can never understate the importance of words, especially Yahshua words.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
It is not only His Truth that sanctifies us but the Sabbath and Clean and Unclean Foods. Sanctify means we are set apart or made holy. We need to realize that. This is our true identity with our Creator – a relationship that 99% of all mankind do not have. We are very special. This is only possible because we obey and understand His Word of truth and reject false doctrines that replace the True ones.

Some may think these things do not really matter. It matters to Him and it had better matter to us.
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24 Yahweh is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
As I studied this topic of Replacement Theology, those who tried to define church completely misunderstood the truth about what the word church really means. Let’s look at the origins of the word church.
THE MEANING OF THE WORD “CHURCH“ ANOTHER REPLACEMENT IN THEOLOGY
What does the word “church” mean and where did it come from? An interesting quote from the 1915 Gospel Advocate on page 589 says:
The word “church” is not really a translation of any word that was used by either Yahshua or His apostles, but is from a different word which Roman Catholicism substituted in the place of the true words used by Yahshua and His apostles. This was put in our English scriptures by the order of King James who instructed the translators of 1611 not to translate Ecclesia using the correct words congregation or assembly, but to use the word church instead. The word church is neither Hebrew or Greek and is not found in the Old Covenant. or New Covenant.
The Greek word in the N.T. for “church” is Ekklesia which means “Called Out Ones.” Ekklesia does not refer to a building, but a group of people. The proper English translation should read congregation, assembly or group. In Acts 19:32, Ekklesia is translated as assembly, but in other passages, it is translated as a church. A church is defined as a building for public worship.
Ekklesia is also spelled Ecclesia in our English dictionary so why wasn’t it used in later translations?
Bible scholars say the word “church” is derived from the Greek word Kyriakon meaning “lords house” and it is not used in the bible. Ekklesia is!
It is assumed to be from Kureous meaning “house of god.” This word existed before the introduction of Greek. The word means a circle and comes from German and Celtic nations and is an ancient stone Megaliths on earth.
The Oxford Dictionary says – circle, chiriche, churiche and kirche is from the Old Saxon Kirika or circle. What do these mean? Why was another word ordered to replace the true meanings that Yahshua used to identify His followers? Kirke or circe or church today was a Greek goddess Pharmakeia (witch or sorceress) who lived on the island of Aiaia, which is the ancient form of the name Gaia, the pagan goddess of fertility. She was the daughter of the sun god Helios and had the power to change men into lions, wolves and especially swine. This Greek goddess would feed men, give them wine and then touch them with her charming rod and immediately they were transformed into swine having bodies of swine, but retaining their minds – which made them terribly lament their transformation. These men were trapped in these animal bodies
The Greeks pictured this goddess with a golden cup in one hand filled with wine mixed with drugs to seduce and control warriors and kings transforming them into animals.
In Revelation 17:2-5 John saw a vision of this woman while on the isle of Patmos. In Revelation 18:23 the men of the earth are deceived by sorceries.
The words pharmacy or pharmaceuticals come from this word. Strong’s definition of Pharmakeia is medicine.
The church entices people with spiritual drugs, feel good doctrines, hallucinations or special visions and powers – all the things’ drugs and seducing spirits do.
Mark 13:22 For false messiah’s and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
II Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
Kirke is also the word for hawk which is an unclean bird of prey by Torah standards which is an unclean and hateful bird.
She has joined herself to world leaders in order to conquer others of different beliefs that are otherwise unaffected by her sorceries. Revelation 18:24.
Leaders like Constantine had a vision he was to conquer in the sign of the cross.
Witch hunts killed many innocent women to appease the “church’s god.” During the crusades, many innocent people and followers of “church” died for the church’s god. Chattel slavery was defended by “church” and her followers. The murder, rape and lynching of innocent humans didn’t bother her or her daughters one bit. Church’s bloody history will be repaid and all who follow her.
Some have said the church is a “mystery Babylon and the Reformation was the fulfillment of the scriptures that said “come out of her” Mystery Babylon was the mother of harlots. All of the daughter harlots – at least 38,000 denominations may have different first names, but share their mother’s maiden name – that of “CHURCH.”
It is important to understand who Yahweh is actually dealing with. The vast majority of mankind is not being called to be the bride. This is not the only time that salvation is going to be offered to mankind.
The world and mainstream Christianity think the Jews are the “chosen people.” The first place the word Jew is mentioned in scripture is I Kings 16:6 and Judah and Israel are two separate nations who are at war with each other. Israel is mentioned 2415 times in the bible and Jew is mentioned only 272 times. The main emphasis is not on the Jews, but on Israel as a whole nation.
The following scriptures will show that Torah, the Commandments, the Sabbath and the Set Apart Days were given to ancient Israel who are the sum total of the Chosen People not just Judah.
Deuteronomy 5:1 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
Deuteronomy 5:2 Yahweh our Elohim made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Deuteronomy 5:3 Yahweh made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
Deuteronomy 5:4 Yahweh talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
Deuteronomy 5:5 (I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to shew you the word of Yahweh: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,
Deuteronomy 5:6 I am Yahweh thy Elohim , which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Verses 7 – 21 give the 10 Commandments.
Leviticus 23:1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying,
Leviticus 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yahweh, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
Leviticus 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an Set Apart convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of Yahweh in all your dwellings.
Leviticus 23:4 These are the feasts of Yahweh, even Set Apart convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
The whole house of Israel is 12 tribes of which Judah is only one.
Numbers 1:2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
Numbers 1:3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
Numbers 1:4 And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
Numbers 1:5 And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben (1); Elizur the son of Shedeur.
Numbers 1:6 Of Simeon (2); Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
Numbers 1:7 Of Judah (3); Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
Numbers 1:8 Of Issachar (4); Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
Numbers 1:9 Of Zebulun (5); Eliab the son of Helon.
Numbers 1:10 Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim (6); Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh (7); Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
Numbers 1:11 Of Benjamin (8); Abidan the son of Gideoni.
Numbers 1:12 Of Dan (9); Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
Numbers 1:13 Of Asher (10); Pagiel the son of Ocran.
Numbers 1:14 Of Gad (11); Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
Numbers 1:15 Of Naphtali (12); Ahira the son of Enan.
Numbers 1:16 These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
Who does Yahweh say he has chosen as his chosen people?
Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art a holy people unto Yahweh thy Elohim : Yahweh thy Elohim hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:7 Yahweh did not set his love upon you, nor choose you because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
Deuteronomy 7:8 But because Yahweh loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath Yahweh brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Mathew 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mathew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
