Agape Love

FRUIT OF THE SET-APART SPIRIT – YHWH’S LOVE THE CREATOR’S LOVE FOR ISRAEL AND FOR US By Larry Scher

There are many major themes that run through scriptures – Prophecy, Salvation, Law and Grace (favor), the Kingdom of YHWH, etc. The one common thread these and other topics have in common is love. His love is the motivating factor for our very creation, existence and destiny. The entire physical creation is a manifestation of His love for mankind –a perfect environment for mankind to thrive and prosper in.

The following is an overview of the definitions of YHWH’s love that is mentioned in the bible. Love is both a noun and a verb. To understand love’s true meaning, it is always best to let the Bible interpret the bible. After the dictionary definitions, we will expound scriptures that best describe His love. There are other kinds of love as well, but this lesson will focus on the meanings and purposes of His agape love.

I. In the O.T. YHWH’s Love – Strong’s 2617 – hesed – loving-kindness; steadfast love; grace; mercy; faithfulness; goodness; devotion. This term is one of the most important in the vocabulary of the O.T. theology and ethics. It is identifies three basic meanings: strength, steadfastness and love. The true meaning and usage should contain all three. The word refers primarily to mutual and reciprocal rights and obligations between the parties of a (covenant) relationship as between YHWH and Israel. The weaker party seeks the protection and blessing of the protector. The stronger party remains committed to His promise, but retains his freedom, especially with regard to the manner in which he will implement those promises. Hesed implies personal involvement and commitment in a relationship beyond the rule of law.

Martial love (another covenant) is often related to hesed. The prophet Hosea applies the analogy to Yahweh’s hesed to Israel within the covenant. It includes YHWH’s devotion or steadfast love for Israel including His truth, reliability, faithfulness, kindness, mercies and faithfulnesses are his specific acts of redemption in the fulfillment of His promises. Hesed can have both YHWH and man as its subject. When man is the subject, it usually describes the person’s kindness or loyalty to another person such as David and Jonathan.

The association of hesed with “covenant” keeps it from being misunderstood as mere love for all creatures; it applies primarily to YHWH’s particular love for His chosen and covenanted people. “Covenant also stresses the reciprocity of the relationship; but since YHWH’s hesed is ultimately beyond the covenant, it will not ultimately be abandoned even when the human partner is unfaithful and must be disciplined.

II. In the N.T. YHWH’s Love – Strong’s 25 – agapao – These are used in the N.T. to describe the attitude of YHWH toward His Son, to Believers (His Children) in conveying His will toward them and also concerning their attitude towards one another and to express the essential nature of YHWH. This love is known by the actions it prompts. It is a deliberate choice, made without cause, and is expressed by His nature alone. Yahshua displayed this perfect love in His sacrifice for us. His covenant love expresses itself in implicit obedience to His commandments. The whole law is summed up in love. Love is also the first “fruit of the Spirit” mentioned as it must be present to be the main factor that helps produce all the others. Self-will or self-pleasing is the negation of this love to YHWH. A true believer’s love is not an impulse from feelings. This love seeks the welfare of all, works no ill to any, and seeks opportunity to do good to all men, especially our brothers and sisters in the Truth. As used of YHWH, it expresses the deep and constant love and interest of a perfect Being towards His Children which fosters a reverential love in them towards their Father. YHWH is Love.

Love is a massive topic, so today we are just going to cover love as a fruit of the Spirit.

Rom 5:5 and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of Elohim hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Set-apart Spirit which was given unto us.

1Co 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal. This verse states the power of the Spirit manifests itself or one could say reveals itself as spiritual gifts. In Gal 5:22-23 it manifests itself as a fruit comprised of 9 different characteristics or personality traits that YHWH has in Himself. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.

Today we will divide love into three areas. How YHWH loves us, how we are to Love YHWH and how we are to love others with agape love (His love).

I. How does YHWH love us?

Joh 3:16 For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (4100 – pisteuo- verb – to believe, to be persuaded of, to place confidence in, to trust, reliance upon not mere credence) on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of YHWH leadeth thee to repentance? Rom 5:8 But Elohim proves His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Messiah died for us.

Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, Rom 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Elohim, which is in Yahshua our Master.

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the set-apart scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith in Yahshua Messiah. 2Ti 3:16 All scriptures is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2Ti 3:17 That the man of YHWH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

1Jn 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not YHWH; for YHWH is love1Jn 4:9 In this was manifested the love of YHWH toward us, because that YHWH sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

1 Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved YHWH, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. II. How Do We Love YHWH and Yahshua? 1 Jn 5:3 For this is the love of YHWH, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

One way to describe the commandments is that they are the law of love. The first four teach us how to love YHWH and the last six teach us how to love others. The first four are:

Exo 20:1 And YHWH spoke all these words, saying, Exo 20:2 I am YHWH thy Elohim, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other elohims before me. Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I YHWH thy Elohim am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me, Exo 20:6 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of YHWH thy Elohim in vain; for YHWH will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Exo 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart. Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto YHWH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid- servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Exo 20:11 for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHWH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

We always need to be asking ourselves, Who is First because anything less is idolatry. The manifestation of our love for YHWH is through our obedience to His laws and Words.

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Deu 30:20 to love YHWH thy Elohim, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which YHWH sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

4 Loving and obeying Him brings great blessings.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love YHWH, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Joh 14:23 Yahshua answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Joh 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

III. How Do We Love Each Other?

The last 6 commandments express how we love one another.

Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee.

Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill

Exo 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Exo 20:15 Thou shalt not steal

Exo 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Exo 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour’s

At this point, I think it is important to note that love for others can have deep feelings and emotions, but this does not have to be the case. We can love others without necessarily liking them. We all have different personalities and backgrounds and interests. Friendship can be different than agape love. We don’t have to like everyone, but we do have to love everyone – i.e. treat others in the context of the last 6 commandments and respect others rights and feelings. We should always have out-

5 going concern for the well-being of others. Moses and Abraham are mentioned as being friends of YHWH

Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Joh 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Joh 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his Elohim doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

In the N.C. Yahshua wants to have a relationship with us on many different levels. We are the Bride. We are Sons and Daughters. We are brothers and sisters in Messiah, and through our obedience to His Word, He also wants to call us friends.

My wife is many things to me, my bride, my help-meet, and also my best friend and confident.

Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

YHWH is not a respecter of persons. He loves everyone as much as He loves Yahshua. He wants everyone to have a chance for salvation. We too, should want the best for everyone too.

Rom 13:8 Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

I Cor 13 is another way in which love can manifest itself in our relationships with others. Rather than law governing our relationships with others, also included is kindness, manners, self-control, humility as we relate to others in how we express our love for them. not charity, 1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

6 1 Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

1 Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

1 Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

1 Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

1 Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

How we love others is inseparable from how we love YHWH and Yahshua. The fabric of love is inter-woven by the indwelling of the Set-apart Spirit and Yahshua living His life in us by the power of His Spirit and Word guiding our every step, our thoughts and our actions. I John 4 is a good example of how these things are entwined. 1 Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of YHWH; and every one that loveth is born of YHWH, and knoweth YHWH.

1 Jn 4:11 Beloved, if YHWH so loved us, we ought also to love one another1 Jn 4:12 No man hath seen YHWH at any time. If we love one another, YHWH dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1 Jn 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 1 Jn 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 1Jn 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Yahshya is the Son of YHWH, YHWH dwelleth in him, and he in YHWH.

1 Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that YHWH hath to us. YHWH is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in YHWH, and YHWH in him. 1 Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1 Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. 1 Jn 4:20 If a man say, I love YHWH, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love YHWH whom he hath not seen? 1 Jn 4:21 And this commandment we have from him, That he who loveth YHWH love his brother also.

1 Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of YHWH, when we love YHWH, and keep his commandments. John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you. Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

I John 3:18 says we should not just love in word only but in deeds. Actions speak louder than words and are much more powerful in what they accomplish in the lives of others. Matthew 25 is a good example of deeds we can do to manifest our love towards others.

Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Mat 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Yahshua, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. Mat 25:46 And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

8 Love is a way of life as demonstrated by keeping the commandments, living by Torah and doing good works and deeds for others. Love is the main building block and pathway to the Kingdom. We all need to examine our lives daily to see if we are walking in this way of love. Straight is the way and narrow is the path that leads to life and few there be that find it. Remember to love each day so we all can stay on the right path.

Isa 63:7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of YHWH, and the praises of YHWH, according to all that YHWH hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. Isa 63:8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. Isa 63:9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. Isa 63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his set-apart Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. Isa 63:11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his set-apart Spirit within him? Isa 63:12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

Agape Love Yah’s Perfect Love

Jer 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth 12 me, that I am the Elohim which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Elohim. Jer 9:25 Behold, the days come, saith the Elohim, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; Jer 9:26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart

Jer 31:1 At the same time, saith the YHWH, will I be the Elohim of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:3 The Elohim hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Jer 32:17 Ah YHWH! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Jer 32:18 Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty Elohim, the YHWH of hosts, is his name, Jer 32:19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

Hos 2:18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely. Hos 2:19 And I will betroth thee unto me forever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. Hos 2:20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know YHWH.

AGAPE LOVE ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES.

Agape Love. The following is an overview of the definitions of YHWH’s love that is mentioned in the Scriptures.

I. In the O.T. YHWH’s Love – Strong’s 2617 – hesed – loving-kindness; steadfast love; Favor; mercy; faithfulness; goodness; devotion.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness,

goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that

loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,

nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, Rom 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Elohim, which is in Yahshua our Master.

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the set-apart scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith in Yahshua Messiah.

2Ti 3:16 All scriptures is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for

doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17 That the man of YHWH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

1Jn 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not YHWH; for YHWH is love

1Jn 4:9 In this was manifested the love of YHWH toward us, because that YHWH sent

his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

1Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved YHWH, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

II. How Do We Love YHWH and Yahshua?

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of YHWH, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

One way to describe the commandments is that they are the law of love. The first four teach us how to love YHWH and the last six teach us how to love others. The first four are:

Exo 20:1 And YHWH spoke all these words, saying,

Exo 20:2 I am YHWH thy Elohim, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the

house of bondage.

Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other elohims before me. Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I YHWH thy Elohim am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me,

Exo 20:6 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep

my commandments.

Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of YHWH thy Elohim in vain; for YHWH will

not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Exo 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart.

Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work;

Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto YHWH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid- servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exo 20:11 for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHWH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Loving and obeying Him brings great blessings.

We should always have out-

going concern for the well-being of others.

1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

1Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of YHWH; and every one that loveth is born of YHWH, and knoweth YHWH.

1Jn 4:11 Beloved, if YHWH so loved us, we ought also to love one another

1Jn 4:12 No man hath seen YHWH at any time. If we love one another, YHWH dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1Jn 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 1Jn 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

1Jn 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Yahshya is the Son of YHWH, YHWH dwelleth in him, and he in YHWH.

1Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that YHWH hath to us. YHWH is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in YHWH, and YHWH in him. 1Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

1Jn 4:20 If a man say, I love YHWH, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love YHWH whom he hath not seen?

1Jn 4:21 And this commandment we have from him, That he who loveth YHWH love his brother also.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of YHWH, when we love YHWH, and keep his commandments.

Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you.

Love is a way of life as demonstrated by keeping the commandments, living by Torah and doing good works and deeds for others. Love is the main building block and pathway to the Kingdom. We all need to examine our lives daily to see if we are walking in this way of love. Straight is the way and narrow is the path that leads to life and few there be that find it.

Remember to love each day so we all can stay on the right path.

Psa 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Jer 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth

me, that I am the Elohim which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Elohim.

GOING ON TO PERFECTION

Going on to Perfection:

Perfection is the rendering of several Heb. and Gk. words.  The fundamental idea is that of completeness.  Absolute perfection is an attribute of YHWH alone.  In the highest sense, He alone is complete or wanting nothing.  His perfection is eternal and without defect.   It is the ground and standard of all other perfection.  (See Job 36:4, 37:16, and Matt 5:48)  A relative perfection is also ascribed to YHWH’s works.

Perfection is the rendering of several Hebrew. and Greek words. The fundamental idea is that
of completeness. It is also either ascribed to men or required of them. This is meant as a complete conformity to those requirements as to character and conduct that YHWH has appointed.

This has reference to the government of YHWH that takes account of man’s present debilitated
condition. However, true believers may be perfect even in this life, but must wait for perfection in a larger sense in the life that is to come. Man’s present perfection relates to their union with Yahshua through the Spirit working in them. The believer acquires perfection because our Father sees us through Yahshua’s perfection working in us. Definitions of Perfection:
5046 – Teleios – Finished, that which has reached its end, complete, full, wanting in nothing. When used in a moral sense of YHWH’s expectation of us it means completely blameless.

It also means that you keep yourself unspotted from the world.
It also means a person who is full age, full grown in mind and understanding, and knowledge of the truth, in faith and virtue. One who has reached moral maturity – a person who is obedient in Yahshua.
The perfect love is mature, not lacking boldness or confidence and therefore not hampered by insecurity, anxiety or fear which are characteristic of immature love.
2294 – tharsos – Cheerful mind, courage. To have confidence, to be of good cheer, cheerfulness in connection with showing mercy.
2 4136 – plerophoria – to fulfill, perfect, full conviction, full assurance, complete understanding.
These words may not say “perfect”, but their scriptural context has the same meaning. In very simple terms they all refer to one being complete or mature. We are described in James 5:7 as the precious fruit of the earth. (Be patient therefore, Brethren, unto the coming of Yahshua.

Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain). Pentecost is called the Feast of First fruits. When we walk in newness of life in obedience to the scriptures, we become mature fruit ready for harvest, i.e. ready for eternal life as part of the ruling family in the Kingdom of YHWH.
Luke brings out the same principle as James did. Luke 8:14-15 – And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring forth no fruit to perfection. 15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

What is the purpose or goal of this completeness or perfection?
Eph 4:12-13 – For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Messiah: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the  knowledge of the Son of ELOHIM, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Messiah:
We are to become like Yahshua – to have His mind, His character, the fruit of His Spirit.
He wants to marry someone just like Him to form the perfect bond of oneness just like He has with His Father.
3 John 17:22 – And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
We are not only to be perfect like Yahshua, we are to be perfect like our heavenly Father.
Matt 5:48 – Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
The word Be in the Greek means “will be” or come to pass. Heb 6:1 says we are to go on to perfection. It is a journey or a process also known as the conversion process where we go from being carnally minded to becoming spiritually minded with Yahshua’s mind and maturity, by exercising the use of scripture in our life experiences.

We may think the things we have covered these last three months are meat, however, until we learn to go from observing these things in the letter to discerning and observing these things in the Spirit, it is still just milk.
Heb 5:12-14 – For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of ELOHIM; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Full age is Strong’s #5046 which is the same word meaning mature, perfect and complete. So we see again, having our senses exercised is this process of going on to perfection.

Rom 12:1-2 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of ELOHIM, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto EL, which is your  4 reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of ELOHIM.

The process of perfection takes willingness on our part to sacrifice ourselves in service to others – to give of our time in prayer and study, filling our minds with His Spirit and truth – to transform ourselves into His fullness and stature. This is His will for us.
Col 4:12 – Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of MASHIYACH, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of ELOHIM

2 Tim 3:16-17 – All scripture is given by inspiration of ELOHIM, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of EL may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
This is also achieved through the transforming power of prayer.
I Pet 5:10 – But the ELOHIM of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Messiah YAHSHUA, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.
When we are perfected, we will not only be one with Yahshua and the Father, but we will share their glory.
John 17:22 – And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Rom 8:17 – And if children, then heirs; heirs of ELOHIM, and joint-heirs with Messiah; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

5 Rom 8:17 also confirms the same process we must be willing to suffer as Yahshua did so we can become perfect as He is perfect.
Heb 2:10 – For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Yahshua suffered as our example. We must also be willing to share that suffering. As we grow and mature towards perfection, others become jealous and envious as they foolishly compare themselves among themselves.
II Cor 10:12 – For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Yahshua was the paragon of perfection and was despised more than any man ever has been.

Isa 53:3-6 – He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of ELOHIM, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we
have turned everyone to his own way; and YHWH hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isa 59:15 – Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and YHWH saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
6 Psalm 64:2-5 – Hear my voice, O ELOHIM, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. 2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: 3 who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: 4 that they may shoot in secret at the perfect:
suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. 5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, who shall see them?
Those who go on to perfection and come out of this world’s idolatry, false religions and Babylonian forms of governments, bring persecutions on themselves. Satan hates the perfection YHWH is developing in mankind. He will try to thwart YHWH’s plan every chance he gets.

Job 1:8-12 – And YHWH said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth ELOHIM, and escheweth evil? 9 Then Satan answered YHWH, and said, Doth Job fear ELOHIM for nought? 10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 12 And YHWH said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of YHWH.
YHWH used this trial to humble and perfect Job even more.

Job 42:1-6 – Then Job answered YHWH, and said, 2 I know that thou canst do everything, and that no thought can be with holden from thee. 3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? Therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. 4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. 5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. 6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
7 All of those who are willing to submit to the “perfection process” will be blessed with spiritual fruit.
Ps 37:37 – Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

James 1:3-4 – Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
I John 4:17-18 – Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
So we see here that the fruit of perfection is peace, sound mindedness, faith, love and good works.
The perfection journey is a life-long pursuit and will only be completed through YHWH’s grace and promises. The Apostle Paul, 25 years after he was converted, still was struggling with his human nature.
Rom 7:14-25 – 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of ELOHIM after the inward man: 23 But I see another law 8 in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank EL through YAHSHUA Messiah our
ADONAI. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of ELOHIM; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Paul knew that even as mature as he was or any of us will become, it is YHWH that will complete the process and keep His promises.
Philip 3:12-15 – Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Messiah YAHSHUA. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of ELOHIM in Messiah YAHSHUA. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye be otherwise minded, ELOHIM shall reveal even
this unto you.
Paul understood his high calling and wasn’t going to let anything deter him from completing it.
Prov 2:21 – For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

2 Cor 13:11 – Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the ELOHIM of love and peace shall be with you.
Heb 11:38-40 – (Of whom the world was not worthy 🙂 they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a 9 good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 ELOHIM having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
Conclusion: Going on to perfection is a journey that will produce much spiritual fruit and blessings. It will develop Yahshua’s mind in us and give us peace, love and faith along the way. Ultimately we must have the faith and vision to know He will finish the process.
Philip 1:6 – Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of YAHSHUA Messiah:
“His day” is His return for us as His bride.
Heb 12:22-23 – But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living EL, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to ELOHIM the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, Ours is a heavenly calling – the first fruits to be first-born and made perfect.

HOW TO STUDY THE SCRIPTURES

HOW TO STUDY THE SCRIPTURES.

Before one begins to study the many Scripture Studies found in this section of the web site, perhaps it is best to reflect on “How to Study Scripture” and the important benefits of having a love affair, i.e. a personal relationship with the Word (logos). I mention the term “love affair” because I look at the Scriptures as a gift of “Love Letters” from our Heavenly Father.

AN INTRODUCTION ON HOW TO STUDY THE SCRIPTURES.

Before one begins to study the many Scripture Studies found in this section of the web site, perhaps it is best to reflect on “How to Study Scripture” and the important benefits of having a love affair, i.e. a personal relationship with the Word (logos). I mention the term “love affair”
because I look at the Scriptures as a gift of “Love Letters” from our Heavenly Father. It is His Instruction Manual to direct us on our journey through this physical life so we can find happiness, joy, health, wealth an ultimately, Eternal Life. People study the Scriptures for various reasons on different levels. Some study it casually.

They think it is inspiring or interesting, never realizing its power or importance, or giving it the
recognition as the “supreme source” of Truth and Authority given to us from the Creator of the universe and mankind.
Through history, prominent people have recognized the importance of the Scriptures. (p18-19 from Haley’s Bible Hand Book):
1. Abraham Lincoln: “I believe the Scriptures are the best gift Elohim has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book.”
2. Napoleon: “The Scriptures are no mere book, but a Living Creature, with a power that conquers all that oppose it.”
3. Andrew Jackson: “That book, sir, is the rock on which our republic rests.”
No man is poor or desolate who has this treasure for his own.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. (the Word – “Logos” in the Greek #3056 – this same Logos says that His Word is truth
and obedience to that Word sets us apart. We are different from the rest of the world.
John 17:17 “Set them apart in Your truth – Your Word is truth.”
We are the ecclesia (#1577) “The Called-out Ones – The True Believers.
True believers are not a church as is often mistranslated in most texts. “Church” is a pagan term describing a form of pagan worship. The word “church” is not in the First Writings or the Renewed Covenant. The word used to describe the word “church” or those whom Yah is working with is a congregation or an assembly. If you belong to a church perhaps that should
give you pause for a thought on the subject.

The True Body of Believers is a Spiritual Body – not a corporate church. This is described in Eph 4:4-7.
Eph 4:4 one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation of your calling, Eph 4:5 one Master, one belief, one immersion,
Eph 4:6 one Elohim and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Eph 4:7 But to each one of us favor was given according to the measure of the gift of Messiah.
These verses plainly say that there is only One True Faith – that make up the Called-out Ones – a few people (Luke 12:32) that Yah is working with at this time to become the Bride of Yahshua.
(Rev 19:7) Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, because your Father did delight to give you the reign.

Rev 19:7 “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him praise, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife prepared herself.”
Father Yah is not trying to save the whole world now. People have to be called out of this world’s darkness and deception.
Act 26:18 to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and the authority of Satan to Elohim, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are set-apart by belief in Me.’
Act 2:38 And Kěpha said to them, “Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of יהושע Messiah for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Set apart Spirit.

Act 2:39 “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, as many as יהוה our Elohim shall call.”John 6:44 “No one is able to come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him. And I shall raise him up in the last day.
John 6:65 And He said, “Because of this I have said to you that no one is able to come to Me unless it has been given to him by My Father.”
It takes a miracle to open a person’s mind for one to truly begin to understand the Scriptures.

There are approximately 30,000 churches that are lost in the darkness and deception of pagan sun worship and worldly holidays instead of the Set-apart Sabbath days of Yah found in Leviticus
23. Without the call and influence of the Set-apart Spirit, they cannot truly understand the real Truth of Scripture.
Mat 13:11 And He answering, said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, but to them it has not been given.
Mat 13:12 “For whoever possesses, to him more shall be given, and he shall have overflowingly; but whoever does not possess, even what he possesses shall be taken away from
him.
Mat 13:14 “And in them the prophecy of Yeshayahu is completely filled, which says, ‘Hearing you shall hear and by no means understand, and seeing you shall see and by no means perceive,
Mat 13:15 for the heart of this people has become thickened, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their heart, and turn back, and I heal them.

1 Co 2:9 But as it has been written, “Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man what Elohim has prepared for those who love Him.
1 Co 2:10 But Elohim has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all matters, even the depths of Elohim.
1 Co 2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man that is in him? So also, the thoughts of Elohim no one has known, except the Spirit of Elohim. (All men have the spirit in man, but only a very few have His Set-apart Spirit 1 Co 2:12 And we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from Elohim, in
order to know what Elohim has favorably given us,

1 Co 2:13 which we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Set apart Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual matters with spiritual matters.
1 Co 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the matters of the Spirit of Elohim, for they are foolishness to him, and he is unable to know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Co 2:15 But he who is spiritual discerns indeed all matters, but he himself is discerned by no one.
1 Co 2:16 For “Who has known the mind of הוהי ?Who shall instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Messiah Most of the world is blinded.

2 Co 4:1 Therefore, having this service, even as we received compassion, we do not lose heart, 2 Co 4:2 but have renounced the secret ways of shame, not walking in craftiness nor falsifying the Word of Elohim, (i.e. Satan is the great deceiver and counterfeiter) but by the manifestation
of the truth recommending ourselves to every human conscience, in the sight of Elohim.
2 Co 4:3 And indeed, if our Good News has been veiled, it has been veiled in those who are perishing.
2 Co 4:4 in whom the mighty one of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that the enlightening of the Good News of the esteem of Messiah, who is the likeness of Elohim, does not shine on them. (King James says “The god of this world”)
The most important point of how to study and understand Scripture is you must have the help and guidance of the Set-apart Spirit working with you or being in you.

John 14:17 the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not seen It or know It. But you know It, for It stays with you and shall be in you.
In this verse is a point of affirmation that the world cannot receive the Truth without the help of the Set-apart Spirit. (A side note): This verse and others like it mistranslate the Set-apart Spirit
as a “he”. This is the Trinidadian Influence and the difficulty in translating from Greek to English. The verse should say “It”. The Set-apart Spirit is Yah’s Power, not another person. Regarding understanding Scripture, the work of the Set apart Spirit is mentioned in John 14:26 and in John 16:13.

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Set apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He (IT) shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.
John 16:13 “But when He (IT) comes, the Spirit of the Truth, (IT) shall guide you into all the truth. For He (IT) shall not speak from Himself (Itself), but whatever He (IT) hears He (IT) shall speak, and He (IT) shall announce to you what is to come.
If you need more help understanding Scripture, you need to meditate and pray for it.

Mat 7:7 “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.
Mat 7:8 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.
A study that may be helpful for you on this web site is called “Immersion, A Thorough Study According to Scripture. The Scriptures themselves give some of the most important guidelines on how to study however, only if we can take Yah at His Word and believe what Yahshua says is true.
The Scriptures are the foundation of all true knowledge. Read what Yahshua says in the following Scriptures:

John 8:32 and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 17:17 “Set them apart in Your truth – Your Word is truth.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by Elohim and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness,
2 Timothy 3:17 that the man of Elohim might be fitted, equipped for every good work.
1 Timothy 2:15 But she shall be saved in childbearing if they continue in belief, and love, and setapartness, with sensibleness.
Yahshua’s Words in the following Scriptures will be from the ISR Scriptures and the King James:
Mat 4:4 But He answering, said, “It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of הוהי‘.

Deu 8:3 “And He humbled you, and let you suffer hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, to make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.
Deu 4:2 “Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it,so as to guard the commands of הוהי your Elohim which I am commanding you.
Rev 22:18 For I witness to everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, Elohim shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book,
Rev 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Elohim shall take away his part from the Book of Life, and out of the set-apart city, which are written in this Book.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, Yah shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Yah shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the Set-apart city, and from the things which are written in this book.
All too often, people simply do not take Yah at His Word. The yeah-but attitude – or selective obedience is the slippery slope and a clear violation of Scripture because we are taking away from Scripture and calling Yahshua a liar. We are told to prove all things:

John 4:23 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also does seek such to worship Him.
John 4:24 “Elohim is Spirit, and those who worship Him need to worship in spirit and truth.
1 Th 5:21 prove them all. Hold fast what is good.
This is our personal responsibility if it is really our desire to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. We should have a humble and teachable attitude.
Isa 66:2 “And all these My hand has made, and all these that exist,” declares הוהי” .Yet to such a one I look: on him who is poor and bruised of spirit, and who trembles at My Word.
I have been involved in the Truth of Scripture for 47 years and I am still learning and unlearning false teachings and changing as He reveals more of His very precious Truth. We must always be ready to change and let go of the world’s false religions that are contrary to the Truth of Scripture.
Now for some basic guidelines and rules for studying Scripture:

Isa 28:9 Whom would He teach knowledge? And whom would He make to understand the message? Those weaned from milk, those taken from the breasts!
Isa 28:10 For it is: command upon command, command upon command, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.
Verse 10 says in the ISR Translation, Strongs #6673 says command or precept. We need to break these two verses down so we know how to apply them to our study. Verse 9 – Knowledge and Understanding are a process. One does not just read the scripture and instantly have a deep
understanding of the scriptures and how to apply them in our daily lives. We must study and pray daily.
2 Co 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but even if our outward man is perishing, the inward man is being renewed day by day.
To survive physically and spiritually, we must have our daily bread.

Mat 6:11 Give us today our daily bread.
Mat 6:9 “This, then, is the way you should pray: ‘Our Father who is in the heavens, let Your Name be set-apart, ?
The last part of the verse is very telling – those who are weaned – those who are mature enough for solid food and meat. See Heb 5:12-14.
Heb 5:12 For indeed, although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first elements of the Words of Elohim. And you have become such as need milk and not solid food.
Heb 5:13 For everyone partaking of milk is inexperienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature whose senses have been trained by practice to discern both good and evil.
These versed explain the conversion process by applying Scripture to the everyday life experience by proving and living the Word to transform us from an earthly human being to a Supernatural Spirit Being.
Rom 12:1 I call upon you, therefore, brothers, through the compassion of Elohim, to present your bodies a living offering – set-apart, well-pleasing to Elohim – your reasonable worship (service).
Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.
Transform – #3339 means a metamorphosis 1 Co 15:49 And as we have borne the likeness of the earthy, we shall also bear the likeness of
the heavenly.

Gal 4:19 My little children, for whom I am again in birth pains until Messiah is formed in you, These Scriptures give us the number one, most important reason that we have to study Scripture every day without which, we cannot develop the mind and character of Messiah. He is formed in us due to daily study, prayer, fasting, and meditation monthly or more often.
One very good way to do this is to study by subject or topic. Often we do a Word Study and make and make a complete list of all the Scriptures on that subject such as “Sabbath.” This way, we can see how it is used throughout Scripture. We can form a picture of its meaning by how it
is used – here a little and there a little. This is one of the best ways to know the meaning of a word. Some words have multiple meanings like “Elohim”. It is both a singular and plural. In general, it is plural relating to Yah the Father and the Son who were both there at creation.

Gen 1:26 And Elohim said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the livestock, and over all the earth and over all the creeping creatures that creep on the ground.” (plural meaning).
Exo 2:24 And Yah heard their groaning, and Yah remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. (singular meaning).

Exo 22:8 “If the thief is not found, then the master of the house shall be brought before Elohim to see whether he has put his hand into his neighbor’s goods. (Elohim can also mean to be brought before a judge in Israel).
Here we have shown the word “Elohim” has three different meanings which are best defined by how the word “Elohim” is used. There are hundreds of words/topics that are displayed in the same manner. Once we have this concept in mind, we begin to understand that Scripture interprets Scripture. This enables us to find the Truth of Scripture instead of accepting the false  teachings of mainstream Christianity which are not found in Scripture, such as Christmas or Sun worship, Trinity which represents Easter, and the false doctrine of going to Heaven. These are examples of “replacement theology.” I have found 26 different subjects that deal with
“replacement theology and many you can find on the Web site.

Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Did you notice that it is possible to worship Yahshua in vain?
2 Co 11:2 For I am jealous for you with a jealousy according to Elohim. For I gave you in marriage to one husband, to present you as an innocent maiden to Messiah.
2 Co 11:3 But I am afraid, lest, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Messiah.

2 Co 11:4 For, indeed, if he who is coming proclaims another יהושע ,whom we have not proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different Good News which you have not accepted, you put up with it well enough!
2 Co 11:14 And no wonder! For Satan himself masquerades as a messenger of light!
2 Co 11:15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works!
These verses describe a false system of worship that was in the Garden of Eden and has crept into the True Assemblies of Messiah down through the ages and remains to this day. Scripture reveals two systems of worship from the very beginning – a false system and the True One. It is incumbent upon all of us to prove all things and to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

John 4:23 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also does seek such to worship Him.
John 4:24 “Elohim is Spirit, and those who worship Him need to worship in spirit and truth.”
We need to realize that one translation of Scripture is not really adequate to acquire the best understanding of the truth on any given topic. Shortly, I will give more examples of how Scripture interprets Scripture. There are many different study aids available for your computer
on the internet, however computers or the internet may not remain available. Due to this possibility I have hard copies of 7 different Bible Dictionaries, 3 different Concordances, at Naves Topical Bible and about 20 different translations. In using all of these study aids, it
becomes obvious, especially when using the Dictionaries that false doctrines such as the trinity and going to heaven are interwoven with truth. When one compares Scripture with Scripture it helps sift out corruptions and mistranslated.
There is a difference between a translation, interpretation and transliteration. A transliteration has to do with the pronunciation of a word or a name. Translators try to get as close as possible to a correct pronunciation, but this is very difficult at times; for instance the Hebrew word Daniel is spelled three different ways and all are pronounced the same. This can be taken to the extreme as in Yahweh’s name by some who say if you do not pronounce YHWH a certain way, then you will not be saved. There is no such stipulation found in the Scriptures. The closest example
found is the mixing of the Name of the True Creator with pagan mighty ones stated in EX 23:13.

Exo 23:13 “And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth.
I caution people not to fall into the semantics trap. Translators use different synonyms of the same word they think best describes the meaning of the verse or the word. There are no perfect translations and that is why I have so many in my library. This enables me to compare them to each other. The following are quotes from the translators themselves; I.S.R. Translation – Preface – First 3 Paragraphs: There have been many fine translations of the Scriptures which, over the years, have been such a wonderful source of blessing to so many. Yet the multitude of choices between available
translations is in itself a source of confusion for many. Which translation is truly the Word of the Most High? Don’t some translations appear to outrightly contradict the reading of certain other translations? Is it really necessary, one may ask, to add yet another one?
The reality is that the inspired Word of the Almighty is not represented adequately in any translation or version made by human beings (including this one!), for the best translation only represents the sincere and prayerful attempt by human beings to render the Word of the Creator into a receptor language which ultimately has its origins at Tower of Babel, and words in one language do not have a one-to-one correspondence with words in any other language. The Scriptures are, after all, those words which were originally breathed out by the very Creator himself. While we definitely believe in the overriding hand of Providence in the transmission of
the Scriptures (Rom 3:2; 9:4-5), no sincere translator (or board of translators) would ever be so pompous as to assert that his or her translation is the very Word of the Almighty Himself!
Approaching the task of Scripture translation from different backgrounds, environments, cultural mindsets, etc. inevitable affects the end result. Those with no access to the original language of Scripture become entirely dependent on whichever translations are in their hands. Apart from
taking steps to get to grips with the original languages of the Scriptures (something that we would earnestly encourage every genuine student of the Scriptures to do), the only other recourse they have is to acquire and compare as many translations/versions of the Scriptures as
possible. This way something, however small, may be grasped, of the multifaceted depth of the original. Thus there remains a real need for further translations which will help to bring forth yet
further elements from the original tongue that are not adequately reflected in other translations.

RESTORATION SCRIPTURES TRUE NAMES EDITION

A “Thought For Thought” Translation The Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition is not a “word for word” translation. It is not
designed to be. First of all, all translations in a real honest sense are all paraphrases. Simply put, there is no such thing as a literal “work for word” translation. It is just that some publishers and editors are pretty crafty at covering up that fact. They do not want you to know that they were
forced by linguistic constraints and limitations to paraphrase, or add words, or even often reverse word orders. Some may find that shocking, but it remains nonetheless true. Therefore the Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition has had to employ all of the above traditional translation methods. And we desire to be up front and honest about it.
Paraphrase:
Paraphrase means “an intentional re-wording to make a point” (Webster’s New World Dictionary, Second Edition, p.1031). This we have done. The rewording and Hebraic insertions have been made in order to bring clarity to YHWH’S covenant faithfulness in all its unchanging
beauty (Mal 3:6, Ivrim 13:8). For example, in Hebrew there are over 10 legitimate words for the English word “praise.” In English, however, translators have taken all 10 different Hebrew words for “praise and have
translated it simply as “praise” in English. That is not a literal translation; for if it were, all 10 words for praise would have to appear differently-translated in English. But since there are not 10 words for praise would have to appear differently-translated in English. But since there are
not 10 words for praise in English due to English language constraints, all 10 Hebrew words are lumped into a single English word.
The same problem can be found in the Greek, for example, with the word “love.” There are at least three common words for love, and yet all three words are translated as the single English word “love.” Were the Greek-based Renewed Covenant translated literally rather than reworded,
all three forms would have to appear as three different English words. These are just two common examples of the problems facing all translators. Rather than deal with such unsolvable issues, we have decided to publish the best “thought for thought” paraphrased translation, as it
pertains to our vision. We have therefore reworded verses in order to capture, proclaim, and declare the thoughts of YHWH, as perhaps never before seen, due to the biases of ancient and modern translators – both Jewish and Christian. If we have recaptured YHWH’S true intentions,
then we have recaptured the true message of the kingdom, and its restoration through YHWH’S Son.
No other translations we know of have set out to focus on the true, central and primary meaning of the message of the kingdom. Rather, they have presented the Tov News (Evangel) as a message for the whole world, without any true understanding or discernment of YHWH’s intense
compassionate heart for his nation Yisrael and their scattered sheep. The

Restoration Scriptures

True Name Edition has corrected what we believe to be the wrong emphasis of other translations that discount Yisrael. More specifically, they have altogether discounted the ten tribes returning through the Tov News. That unbalance is corrected in the Restoration Scriptures True Name
Edition, displaying that Yahshua’s primary mission was first to reunite Yisrael (Judah and Ephraim) and only then to reach out to those from the nations –l not the other way around.
Both translators make mention of the importance of not adding to or taking away.

Rev 22:18 For I witness to everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, Elohim shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book, Rev 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Elohim shall take away his part from the Book of Life, and out of the set-apart city, which are written in this Book.
Deu 4:2 “Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it, so as to guard the commands of הוהי your Elohim which I am commanding you.
There is a difference between adding a word or using its synonym to better understand or clarify the meaning of the verse or doctrine. I have no problem with that, but to do that to change the meaning or wrest the Scripture is a clear violation of these last two Scriptures. Everyone who
preaches and expounds the Word, uses analogies, metaphors, and sometimes paraphrasing to amplify the true meaning of the set of verses they are working with. Letting Scriptures interpret themselves is another way to amplify the meaning of certain words or doctrines.
Let’s look at some examples of Scriptures interpreting Scriptures.

Mat 28:19 “Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit,d Footnotes: c Note: The singular.
d Not found in the Hebrew Shem Tov text, “…and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit.
Looking at this verse by itself, it seems fairly reasonable to assume it is credible; but when compared to other Scriptures on immersion, you cannot find any examples of any immersions being done in three names. The historic record does not bear it out either. After meditating on
the verse, it makes no sense either. Only Yahshua died for our sins. The Father really has no part in the immersion process. That authority is given to the Son. The Set-apart Spirit does not have a name as it is Yah’s power given by the laying on of hands after immersion.
All of the mainstream Christian doctrines can be proved or disproved by simply comparing Scripture with Scripture. What is the reward of the saved? Is it going to heaven?

John 3:13 “And no one has gone up into the heaven except He who came down from the heaven – the Son of Adam.
Act 2:29 “Men and brothers, let me speak boldly to you of the ancestor Dawid, that he died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
There is no mention of David being in heaven. A verse that is often used for the rapture theory and to say we are going to heaven is

1 Thes 4:13-17.
1 Th 4:13 Now, brothers, we do not wish you to be ignorant concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you be sad as others who have no expectation.
1 Th 4:14 For if we believe that עשוהי died and rose again, so also Elohim shall bring with Him those who sleep in עשוהי .Footnote: aA euphemism for death.
1 Th 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Master, that we, the living who are left over at the coming of the Master shall in no way go before those who are asleep. 1 Th 4:16 Because the Master Himself shall come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of a chief messenger, and with the trumpet of Elohim, and the dead in Messiah shall rise first. 1 Th 4:17 Then we, the living who are left over, shall be caught away together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air – and so we shall always be with the Master.
The time frame for the above mentioned Scriptures is the Last Trump when Yahshua returns. Notice vs 16. Yahshua comes down from heaven. That heaven is the 3rd heaven where the throne room is and he comes to the 1st heaven. Verse 17 mentions the 1st heaven where the clouds are. Then we shall always be with the Master. The question is, “where will the Master be?”
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones – and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them – and the lives of those who had been beheaded because of the witness they bore to עשוהי and because of the Word of Elohim, and who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive
his mark upon their foreheads or upon their hands. And they lived and reigned with Messiah for a thousand years.
We will be ruling and reigning with Messiah for 1000 years and where will we be doing this?

Rev 2:26 “And he who overcomes, and guards My works until the end, to him I shall give authority over the nations, Rev 5:10 and made us sovereigns and priests to our Elohim, and we shall reign upon the earth.
These Scriptures speak for themselves.
This process is endless and foolproof when applied correctly to disprove all the false, worldly doctrines such as Sunday, Christmas, Easter, the Trinity, an ever-burning hell, once saved, always saved, just believe, etc. I have searched out 26 replacement theology doctrines that have
replaced the truth of Scripture.

When reading Scripture, remember what the world calls the O.T. and N.T. are really one book. Most of the Renewed Covenant is just quotes from the first writings with nothing done away – and they simply are applied differently. Yahshua’s sacrifice replaces animal sacrifices. In order for sins to be forgiven, there must still be a blood sacrifice. We have the
Spirit of the law amplifying the letter of the law; none the less, the letter of the law still remains. Lev 23 notes the High Days which explain the plan of Redemption in addition to Hebrew 6:1-2 which further explain the walk of the True Believer and our ultimate destiny.

Heb 6:1 Therefore, having left the word of the beginning of the Messiah, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of belief toward Elohim, Heb 6:2 of the teaching of immersions, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the
dead, and of everlasting judgment.
I had my roots in the late 60’s in the Worldwide Church of God. In my opinion, most of the Churches of God, with the exception of the Names and the True Calendar are better grounded in the fundamental doctrines than many of the scattered Assemblies today.

A major portion of the Studies and Writings on this website are an attempt to build on that sound foundation and add the additional truths not yet accepted by most of the Churches of God today.
Jude 1:3 Beloved ones, making all haste to write to you concerning our common deliverance, I felt the necessity to write to you urging you to earnestly contend for the belief which was once for all delivered to the set-apart ones.
Eph 4:13 until we all come to the unity of the belief and of the knowledge of the Son of Elohim, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the completeness of Messiah, It is the goal of this site by revealing more of the Truth of Scripture that we can all better see our true identity as a Spiritual Body rather than the corporate boundaries that divide us.
May Yah bless you with a humble and teachable heart to help us all attain to His perfection, fullness and stature.
