Immersion:
Immersion means you are entering a new way of life. You are a new creature in Yahshua.
Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were immersed into Messiah Yahshua were immersed into His death?
Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with Him through immersion into death, that as Messiah was raised from the dead by the esteem of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.
There are many denominations/sects, in fact, thousands, that profess a belief in one whom they call Jesus. These beliefs are not scripturally correct. They profess the wrong name as well as wrong titles for their organizations they call “churches” or different names of various groups.
Beginning with Genesis 18:19 throughout the remainder of the Scriptures, “Followers of The Way” is the correct terminology for those who are called out of the world and are part of the true spiritual body of Messiah rather than “Christian.”
Genesis 18:19 For I have known him, so that he commands his children and his household after him, to guard the way of Yahweh, to do righteousness and right-ruling, so that Yahweh brings to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”
Please notice Acts 24:14:
Acts 24:14 And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,
Once we have responded to the call, repented of our sins, and have been given the faith/belief that our sins are washed away by His blood, we are now ready for immersion; but is there a correct way to be immersed? Can just anyone immerse us? What is the correct name to be immersed in? Who has the authority to immerse a person? According to Scripture, only an ordained minister who teaches the truth of Scripture can immerse a person. Paul laid his hands on Timothy and that enabled Timothy to receive the Set-apart Spirit.
II Timothy 1:6 For this reason I remind you to stir up the gift of Elohim which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
II Timothy 1:7 For Elohim has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and of love and of self-control – or a sound mind (King James Version)
I Timothy 4:14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elderhood.
Acts 19:1 And it came to be, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper parts, came to Ephesus. And having found some taught ones,
Acts 19:2 he said to them, “Did you receive the Set-apart Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Set-apart Spirit.”
Acts 19:3 And he said to them, “Into what then were you immersed?” And they said, “Into John’s immersion.”
Acts 19:4 And Paul said, “John indeed immersed with an immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the One who is coming after him, that is, in Messiah Yahshua “.
Acts 19:5 And when they heard this, they were immersed in the Name of the Master Yahshua
Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Set-apart Spirit came upon them, and they were speaking in tongues and prophesying.
