Again, these verses show that it is the ordained ministry, teaching the truth of Scripture, that are qualified to lay hands on the repentant sinner for the receiving of the Set-apart Spirit. Whose name are repentant sinners to be immersed in? Most translations of the Scriptures read that we are to be immersed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Set-apart Spirit. I have, to date, only found one translation that is correct and not corrupted by the Trinitarian Doctrine!! That translation is called The Restoration Scriptures – The True Name Edition. It says one is to only be immersed in the name of Yahshua. The Scriptures, themselves, prove this fact as there are NO scriptural examples of three names being used in the immersion of any person.
Please notice the following Scriptures:
Acts 4:12 And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”
Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be immersed in the Name of Yahshua Messiah. Then they asked him to remain a few days. Yahshua’s name is very important to Him and it should be to us too.
Exodus 23:13 And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth.
Immersion symbolizes many things—forgiveness of sins, becoming a new creation in Messiah, and the beginning of our Covenant relationship with Yahshua, which is often over-looked.
A Covenant is like a contract being entered into by two parties. It has terms and conditions or promises and commitments made on both sides, by both parties.
Many years ago, when I was in contractor’s school, I learned a simple definition of a “Contract.” It was a promise to “perform.” In the case of immersion, we make a commitment to keep Torah, to continue to repent of our sins, to witness about Messiah and His Word and His Gospel Message, to love and serve Him and our Brethren, and to remain faithful in our relationship with Him through prayer, study, meditation and fasting.
Our Covenant is about preparing ourselves as His Bride:
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him praise, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife prepared herself.”
Revelation 19:8 And to her it was given to be dressed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteousness’s of the set-apart ones. We are engaged to Yahshua. We are to build and nurture that relationship. No one would marry someone they did not know or who would not share their deepest thoughts and desires. Please notice these important Scriptures.
I Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, then, under the mighty hand of Elohim, so that He exalts you in due time,
