Mathew 12:48 But He answering, said to the one who spoke to Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?”
Mathew 12:49 And having stretched out His hand toward His taught ones, He said, “See My Mother and My brothers!
Mathew 12:50 For whoever does the desire of My Father who is in the heavens is My brother and sister and mother.”
Immersion has three main purposes:
- To forgive our sins.
- To create a Covenant relationship between Yahweh and us.
- To give us His Set-apart Spirit which empowers us to grow and overcome and develop the mind and character of our Creator.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.
The word transformed in the Greek is metamorphous. Our mind is transformed from a carnal mind, to having the mind of Messiah through the power of His Spirit.
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:7 Because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards Elohim, for it does not subject itself to the Torah of Elohim, neither indeed is it able,
Romans 8:8 and those who are in the flesh are unable to please Elohim.
Philippians 2:5 For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah Yahshua,
