Ephesians 2:1-5
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But Elohim, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Messiah, (by favor ye are saved;) Sinful practices are called dead works. Dead works are any sinful practices that would lead us to spiritual death rather than eternal life.
See Proverbs 21:16 below.
Proverbs 21:16 – The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
Real repentance is when a miracle occurs that gives Spiritual Sightedness for a person to see and understand themselves and repent of the things they previously didn’t even understand were sin. Real repentance comes from YAH.
Romans 2:4 – Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of Elohim leadeth thee to repentance?
Many people are not even aware or know when the process of real repentance begins. It starts with our calling.
John 6:44, 65 – No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. Vs 65 – And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
The power of the Set Apart Spirit begins to work with our minds to teach and convict us of sin.
John 14:17 – Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth it not, neither knoweth it: but ye know it; for it dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
When we are ready for baptism the Spirit will then be in us by the laying on of hands after immersion for our sins. Verse 17 says it is the spirit of truth which the world can not receive. It is only those whom the Father is calling and granting repentance to that are able to receive His Spirit.
Matthew 13:10, 15-16 – And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Vs 15-16 – For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
