KEEPING THE SABBATH SET APART

KEEPING THE SABBATH SET APART

We have all come to the conviction that there is no scriptural basis for keeping Sunday.  There are many things that could be taught about the Sabbath, but this study will focus on the meaning and practice of keeping it Set Apart.

Exodus 20:8-11 – Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Set Apart. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:  But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yahweh thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:  For in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YAH blessed the Sabbath day, and Set it apart.

Verse 11 says He blessed it.  Scientific studies have proven that resting on the Sabbath rejuvenates the body more than any other day.  Also, it has been my personal experience that there is more of His Spirit and peace on the Sabbath than any other day.  Verse 11 also says He Set it Apart and sanctified and purified it.

Number 6942 Set Apart Sanctified means the day is set apart for a specific purpose.  The day is to be pure – devoted to the worship of Yahweh, a day consecrated to YAH.
