These scriptures describe the Spiritual Body of Messiah. It is very important to notice the singular description. There is only one scriptural way to be immersed, only one Set- apart Spirit, only one Yahshua, and only one belief or truth. This is a total description of the oneness we have with Yahshua and this is what a person is being immersed into.
After a person comes up out of the water, the minister tells them these beautiful words– that all their sins are forgiven. They are a pure, clean, sinless vessel ready to receive the Set-apart Spirit through the Laying on of Hands.
Acts 19:6 – And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Set-apart Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
II Timothy 1:6 – Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of Elohim, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
I Timothy 4:14 – Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
These scriptures show us the correct way to receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit is by the Laying on of Hands by an ordained minister who, himself, has gone through the same process of Repentance and has the same understanding of Scriptures we have studied today.
What has been described in this Scripture Study on Belief towards YAH and the Covenant Doctrine of Immersion which is a process of obedience to the Scriptural Instructions on the subject of the conversion process. Once this process has been obediently followed, a person should be converted and filled with His Spirit.
Acts 5:32 – And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Set-apart Spirit, whom Elohim hath given to them that obey him.
SELF EXAMINATION
One should ask themselves if they think they are truly converted. Have I followed all of these scriptural steps before my conversion –Repentance from Dead Works, Belief towards Yahweh, Counting the Cost, Really Understanding the Covenant Relationship that Yahshua expects us to be committed to before He will give us His Spirit and we become betrothed to Him?
Was I immersed in Yahshua’s name? Was I immersed by an ordained minister who really understood, accepted and lived by the scriptures explained in this study – even if I had a strong religious experience or calling that changed my life and brought me to a Repentant way of life? How do I know that it wasn’t just the Spirit working with me and yet not in me?
John 14:17 – Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth it not, neither knoweth it: but ye know it; for it dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
How Can We Tell?
The definition of a truly converted believer is found in Romans 8:8-9 – So then they that are in the flesh cannot please Elohim.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of Elohim dwells in you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of Messiah, he is none of his.
These are all very serious questions we all need to ask ourselves. They are a matter of Spiritual life or death. I have had to ask myself these questions in times past.
