REPENTANCE FROM DEAD WORKS

Luke 3:8 – Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That Elohim is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Repentance and putting sin out of our lives is a life-long part of the conversion process.

Next we will study faith towards YAH and Baptism. Baptism is a covenant or contractual relationship with our Savior. The terms and conditions of that contract we will cover in detail in the next lesson. In brief though, when we meet the condition of “fruit meet for repentance” that is real repentance as a qualifying pre-requisite for baptism. He then, promises to give us the gift of the Set Apart Spirit – to convert us and blot out our sins.

Acts 3:19 – Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of יהוה .

Also because we have repented properly and are willing to surrender our lives and obey him, He promises the gift of the Set Apart Spirit.

Acts 5:32 – And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Set Apart Spirit, whom Elohim hath given to them that obey him.

This study is a beginning study on repentance and will help lay a foundation of repentance from dead works.
Here are some additional scriptures for your study on repentance, both old and new Covenant.

INDIVIDUAL REPENTANCE

The following is a scriptural reference for the subject of repentance. It will be of immense help to all of us.

Please notice that even when taken captive that YAH will influence their enemies to have compassion upon them

I Kings 8:46-51, 60-61 – If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

47 Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

48 And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

49 Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

50 And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

51 For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron: Vs 60-61 – That all the people of the earth may know that YAH is Elohim, and that there is none else.

61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with YAH our Elohim, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

Job 42:5-6 – I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
